2013 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring + Tech - Black on Black
Just got home from the dealership, taking delivery in the morning on our brand new 2013 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring + Tech Black Ext./Black Int. Traded my 2010 Dodge Charger R/T on it.

I must say, this vehicle definitely makes me feel more like a family man. I hate to let the Charger go, but being 25 years old with a 3 year old daughter... It's time to man up(pullup). The Charger was great the past two years, but IMO... gets me in more trouble than it's worth. The wife loves the CX-5, so do I, it's safe, fuel efficient, and the price was just right. What more could I ask for? (Other than a little more pep, but it's a big change coming from 400hp so I may be a bit biased).

We spent the whole day test driving everything from Kia Souls to the CX-5 to the MINI Cooper S Countryman, etc.., etc.. Drove the CX-5 early in the day(2nd to be exact), and there was no question from that point on as to what we were getting(still had to check out everything on the market for peace of mind though).

Anyways, here we are, brand new to the Mazda family and loving it!(idhitit)(idhitit)(idhitit)(idhitit)(idhitit)(idhitit)(idhitit)(idhitit)

Welcome!
how'd the Mini Countryman drive by the way? I was curious about that one.

Rather stiff in the suspension, and really not much more zip to it than the cx-5. I felt some motion sickness coming on just riding down a fairly bumpy road in the passenger seat while Rhea took her turn in it.... Which I hardly ever feel motion sick unless i'm trying to read while moving. Felt every little bump in the road.

Welcome to mazda247.com.

Thanks for the mini report on the Mini Clubman. I always liked the style of the Clubman but never saw much use for the vehicle. In the US, driving a vehicle that's minature and cartoonish in traffic populated by larger vehicles is often unpleasant.

Looks like a tough decision to me, i like the Dodge Charger very much.
In Holland where i'm living they are dammn expensive because of tax by the dutch government.
My age is 48 ! and we have a daughter and she is 12 years old.
So for me its a loooong while ago that i driven a sporty car.
In the past i owned an Peugeot 205 GTI with some special parts on it.
Also i've owned an Alfa Romeo.

Now we have the CX-5 for about 3 weeks and are very satisfied with it.
In the welcome section you can find some pictures.

We drove the MINI Countryman, not the Clubman, but they are fairly similar. Clubman is slightly smaller and 2-door.

I had a similar feeling after driving the CX-5. My old Saab was falling apart (miss that thing a little) and it was time to get a new vehicle. After months of trying to let go of the idea of getting a WRX or an STI, I decided I need something economical and practical, but nothing out there sparked my interest. It was a depressing shopping experience, until I drove the CX-5. I am so happy with the vehicle. Congrats and enjoy!
