What a great forum!

Purchased white cx-9 GT fwd about a month ago. Still learning about the vehicle, and this forum has help alot.

Notice a problem today. It has been raining here all day. There is water coming in from the rear of the moonroof. It seems that the seal is not completely closed with the metal part of the roof. Has anyone notice this problem? Thanks.

Sounds like an issue the dealer should fix without question. I assume you've checked that the roof is all the way closed?

Yes, it's closed. I also notice that there is something like a plastic pan around the roof's opening to channel water. Maybe Mazda designed the moonroof expecting some water to enter. Not sure, sounds silly.

Why even bother asking here? Who wants a new car that leaks? Yes, it is silly.

Definately a defect in the manufacture. Setup an appointment with the local Mazda service and have them fix it.

If you take yours in, let me know what they say or do.
I just noticed mine leaking today in the car wash. I'll wait until it rains to see if it leaks under normal conditions.

Took it in on Friday. Got the sunroof adjusted and have them activate the "Auto lock" (not liking it so far). The feature locks way too quickly.
Anyone know how to disable the door lock beep warnings?

Hey, same thing here... 2008 CX-9 GT in white. First time the car was in the rain yesterday and I see water dripping in the back of the sunroof....nice. Calling the dealer this afternoon.

Mine Leaks in Car Wash onto Passenger Seat

That been said this only occurred on the "very high pressure" part of the cycle when the water jets were directly above the roof. Nothing ever comes in during rain (so far!) or other parts of the wash cycle. I figured that this was a design fault and not worth bothering the dealer with. Heavens forbid if their work made it worse.
