Hey everyone, i'm a new member to the forum though not new to forums. I bought my 03.5 MSP from my older brother, who bought it brand new. I have a couple of things done to it (see signature) and plan to mod a bit more. I'm hoping to find a good thing here and be able to help out and give some insight to tons of threads. Thanks a lot guys.

mods- if this isn't where i should be introducing myself, i apologize- move this to where it should be (lol2)

haha..yeah it is a great color, you see all kinds of mazdas on the road with it now, but i do believe the MSP was the first with it.

Dont worry its correct lol.

And welcome to the great world of owning a POS Mazda, Haha joke joke :D

Hope you enjoy your stay while it lasts and I hope we can help you out in any assistance you will need.

Hey thanks a lot. yeah i plan to stick around for a while, i was on a prelude forum for a while as i had a '94 prelude...then the crank pulley let go and that was the end of that. I'm happy with the protege after owning it for 5 months or so now, i've had a few problems but none that i couldn't take care of myself.

Welcome. These cars aren't bulit proof but also not as fragile as some will tell you on these forums.

yeah i know. i mean i have come across some problems, i've had the suspension clunks, i got the computer reflashed, and my diff still hasn't grenaded and i'm approaching 60k. i'm learning to really love the car though, be gentle with it normally, and drive it the way it should be driven sometimes, and it really rewards.

I'm at 107k with the stock motor and lsd running 10psi for the last 87k. If you treat the car well you will be fine.

yeah i'm not too worried about it, i feel like some of the problems a lot of people have are due to abuse or dud parts...what other mods do you have to go with the 10 psi? and what are you using for a boost controller?

Just motor mounts and the Vibrant exhaust. I use a profec b spec2. But I think its dead and my forge wga won't hold 10psi all the time so I need to get a new MBC.

I have the AWR 95 durometer mounts. They are pretty harsh though. You can buy them in a lower durometer though and they might not be as stiff.

interesting, thanks though. I'm assuming due to the amount of movement i can feel in the powertrain every time i drive/shift hard either the tranny mounts or engine mounts are starting to go, if not gone.

You can tell when your mounts go bad because the motor would jerk alot more then what it should, The fount one makes it jerk alot more, The back one is a little bit but the front one causes most of the problems.

But If I was you, I would get a Welded LSD first. Mine went, went for a month and a half waiting on the Welded LSD to get to me. Its a GREAT investment!

what's the point in getting my lsd welded? due to the extra stress put on the diff from stiffer mounts? do you have your diff welded haze?

Nope. I also don't launch my car from a stop very often. If you like to drag race get ready ahead of time for LSD problems.

Thanks!

and no i don't drag race the car, at least haven't yet. Kinda not what it's built for ya know? it may be fun to get a time once i've done a few things, but i've heard that's the best way to blow the diff is launching it hard.

I DONT DRAG RACE AT ALL!

And my LSD still went, I wasnt on it AT ALL, i was nicly pulling away from a light and it went without me even beeting it, And I dont beet my car at all. The LSD's on these cars are weak, thats why you need to get the case welded tight so it wont pop off! There are a ton of people who just Daily Drive their car and their LSD broke. its going to break no matter what. Unless you get it welded before it happens!
