Hell-o Mazda enthusiasts. Brand new member here from Washington State and my first post. I just received my 2025 Mazda CX-5 Preferred and currently have a 1992 LS1 swapped Miata we call Panic Button. I will be spending most of my time in the CX-5 forum and my first item for searching will be the SD Nav card from Amazon and how that all works. The sales guy told me to order the SD from Amazon, which I did, should be here in a couple days. If anyone can point me to a dedicated thread on this subject that would be helpful.

Thanks, PB

I used to drive an LS1 Trans Am.

Now I drive a Mazda MX-5.

If I could merge the two without paying $75k to Sarasota Super Sport Performance...

I can image what the cost would be today. I did this back in late 2010 and did most of the work myself and it wasn't cheap. There are cheaper ways to go, small block Ford, carburetor, distributor makes it much simpler and cheaper. Doing an LS complicates everything with the computer, fuel system for the most part.

Yeah and that's on an NA. Imagine doing an ND! A "black box" is needed to translate and make all the systems work like a factory Miata.

Not meaning to downplay your achievement at all. This is not a DIY for the average hobbyist, even on an NA.

I originally wanted to do a 1999 or so, but at the time I had to take my cars through emissions so the only way I could do that was to do an older model that didn't use OBD-2. I was able to pass the emissions tail pipe test with flying colors and I don't even have CATs on it. They didn't care what was under the hood, just that it passed at the tail pipe. Now the emission test isn't required anymore here, so if I had to do it again, I'd go with an new model.
