2007 Mazda 3 sport i
Hey everyone...
Just purchased a '07 Mazda 3 last week and took possession on Thursday.
It's a sport i with no bells or whistles really, but look forward to changing that as time progresses. I've been driving Ford trucks for the last five years, but blew a head gasket a couple of weeks ago on my f-150, so I thought I would buy a car to get me around while I rebuild the engine in the truck. The 3 got good reviews and being a Ford guy, I figured I could drive a Mazda, since it's part Ford.
I already found a great tip here on this site and have now unlocked the trip computer on my car....
Next thing I plan on doing to it is a rust proofing treatment as Canadian winters can lay a beating on a car up here in the rust belt.

Look forward to hanging out and talkin' Mazda as I make the car my own.
Dave

Welcome...I was a ford guy when I got converted to mazdas (still a mustang guy though).

Did you get the 2.0 or 2.3?

Thanks guys!
The car has the 2.0
Fam...I wouldn't drive any other truck besides a Ford...even with the trouble she's given me lately( I blame the previous owner and the dealer I bought it from who changed the head after breaking off the manifold bolts....).
Of course I almost bought a B2600 once..It was a very capable 4 wheel drive, but blew smoke on start up and didn't want to have to tear the engine down before I could drive it.
Mustangs are also a favorite of mine....I used to spend a lot of time in GT's back in the 80's...I can still feel the rumble.
Anyway, I look forward to having some fun with my new Mazda and spending lots of time making improvements to it....well, at least once the weather warms up.
Today, I'm going to try to figure out why I have no sound coming from the back speakers.

The fastest mod-built mazdas are the 2.0's despite the 2.3's being faster stock and lightly modded...so if you ever get really bored the option is there...BUT..I had a 2005 2.0 it was a good lightweight car...the 16" wheels were quieter and more comfortable than the 17 inch counterparts...and they could jump railroad tracks at high speed and land without causing damage (the 2005 was my wife's car which was a lease...I gave it hell). Good car.

Oh and as for Ford...Ive never owned a truck but the only trucks Ive driven are fords....they would be the only truck I would buy if I ever needed one no thought needed. The difference you see in the mazdas though is a tight precise suspension, sheet metal gaps that are super tight, and interior that for its time was light years ahead of the other brands...you cant go wrong with the 3 when comparing to the other options.
