New FOGS for P5?

Can you still keep the factory wiring/switches and use non factory housings?

I'm thinking about just cutting the harnesses off of the old fogs and fitting them to the new ones, then plug and play....Will this work?

Sounds like the PIAA 40's are pretty good, and they look in KYMP5's pics... What do they look like lit? White, or yellowish?

Nope, the stock fogs are pretty much a design element--in terms of lighting performance, they suck.

So I figured.

In my experience, the only thing more universally bad than stock tires is stock fog lights. I don't think I've ever owned a car with decent stock fogs. And the ones on the P5 are large, there's no excuse.

No problem with the headlights, they're awesome.

Consumer Reports tested a few dozen headlights a few years ago, some halogen, some HID. They actually concluded that the Protege had the best headlights out of all the cars they tested, including those with HID.

I can see how they came to that conclusion. The P5's headlights are far better than those on my previous cars.

ive never been happy with the stock light output...and plus with me having night blindness i really need something that lights up bright. its why ive been considering an HID kit for a long time

Uh, not sure on that one. Very bright, yes. I also used Silverstars in my P5. Though my RX-8 with HID is much brighter.

I will let you know after this weekend.

Aren't the factory fogs two wires to each light? Positive and negative. My aftermarkets are single wire with the bolt that attaches to the frame being the ground. Here is the wiring diagram. http://www.eagleeyelights.com/320a-wiring.jpg

Do you forsee any issues that I may run into? I know several people are running aftermarket fogs but I am not sure if you ran into any issues or if the fogs were plug and play.

Is the highest our factory switch, relay, fuse, can run 55w? Can I use 100w or 120w bulbs?

Oh yeah - 380,000 candlepower FTW

Maybe. Some people melt their connectors, some people have no issues at 100W. I'm running 65w highs and lows w/out problems.
