NEMOC Random BS Thread

ordered the goods up at townfair. they matched up all of tire racks price :D ill have grippy tires finally!

Mazda feels like home. Its hard to overcome that. All the buttons are right where I expect them.

Yeah.. I hear you on that one. When Jess and I test drove the CX5, I just felt at home in it. She didn't, she's used to Hondas. Me? I'd be happy as anything in one of those.

At least you got another Mazda and didn't become a traitor like I did!

NEPOC has been about the owners more than the cars. That's what I like about the group. It looks like a fun car which is still the group theme. If it puts a smile on your face then it works.

Besides you still have the MSM.

Bruce, we have other MS6 owners in our Facebook Mazda group.

Okay but I don't do Facebook.

Morning all. Fat Tuesday tonite, end of Mardi Gras. Big party tonite at the RV Park. looking forward to trying more southern cuisine.

Weather has dropped again, down to 35 last night and it's 40 right now. Going to stop by Punxsutawney and shoot the people who keep pulling Phil out to check about winter.

p5 motor is making some noise! its not happy right now. all sounds like its on the top end so ill get it towed home likely and will start pulling it apart

Well... MSM is going bye bye at the end of the month (if all works out). I will be Mazda-less for the first time since 2007.

What better time to start than now?

Came home with the CX-9 last night. First drive to work today. I'm glad it has blind spot monitoring because I feel blind changing lanes. Still trying to get the mirrors adjusted but I'm pretty sure there will be a true blind spot even with the mirrors in the correct outward position. I'll pick up some of those little stick on spot mirrors.

The non-bose stereo is surprisingly well rounded. Its grainy like all cheap speakers but there are no ear wincing peaks like in Amanda's Focus. The sound stage is great and I can't wait to throw in some better speakers. I've already been chatting with Oleg about ideas.

Not sure what I'll do for rims. I think my old 18x8 Rotas will fit...but I think 20"s look better. The GT comes with 20s but I specifically didn't want 20" OEM Rims since I will likely use them for winter driving only.

I'm curious about finding the plug-in NAV unit for the factory radio. I don't use NAV often but on long trips it will be nice to have it integrated. We'll see. If I can get one cheap I'll drop it in. I've also been accustomed to having the auto dimming mirror. I'm guessing that can be installed after the fact, right?

No, not going to do springs on the CX-9. Saw a photo of one lowered and it looked like a minivan.

Tee hee, I know what you meant. I'm done with winter too.

Does it have bluetooth audio? Couldn't you just use a smartphone nav and pipe it in through bluetooth?

Oh, then you're out of the club.

Will never happen.

Still waiting for it here.

Same here. There's a 1 inch by 1 inch spot of grass in my back yard over the septic tank. It is my only source of optimism that spring is around the corner.

Maybe, can you still listen to another source while doing that? We have an older Garmin, never messed around with BT, not even sure it has it.

Never been a fan of built in NAVs from manufacturers. Costly to update and complicated to work. Is there a reason you don't want a stand alone Chris?

Happy Hump Day!! Finally get to say it. Last week in Perdido Key FL. Heading to Sebring FL next week for the 12 hours of Sebring.

I dunno, I like everything integrated...assuming it works. Like I said, if I could get the unit cheap I would install it but if it is too expensive I won't bother.

Also, I'm having iPod issues which are apparently common. It reads my iPod no problem, but every time I start the car it plays "Astral Projection" instead of resuming where I left off. A quick search and the problem exists on pretty much all 2012-2015 Mazdas. I'm going to try bluetooth. If that doesn't solve it, and Mazda doesn't offer a fix in the next 6 months, I may be pulling the entire unit and putting an aftermarket one in.

Spring will be here this weekend....supposed to be in the 50's here! :D

Only issue I've come across in Tams 3 is that if you leave the iPod attached to the aux. jack and turn off the ignition, the iPod continues to play? Tam uses the BT option to stream Pandora from time to time or play music from her iPhone and hasn't complained.

I just use my smart phone for nav for the times I need it.

The unit might be a deal but check and see what the map updates cost. Most seem very expensive from what I've heard. If you go with an aftermarket unit like I did, make sure it uses Garmin, Magellan, or whatever mainstream unit you like.

Yes but that won't work when your out of data range.

Changed out the rear endlinks, thankfully with a little PB Blaster all the links came out without a fuss.

If you are doing everything from one device yeah. If you are running nav and music off of your phone, the nav will just chime in when needed.

mornig all, blue board is going up, picking out paint color and wood trim. need to order kitchen cab soon!
