NEMOC Random BS Thread

Awesome Bruce! Have you seen the crazy pearls you can now paint? The stuff is amazing! https://www.dipyourcar.com/home.php

No I didn't, looks pretty cool though. At some point I would like to try and paint the car in Yellow PlastiDip. But Would need someone with the gear.

Looked a some of Fonzie's videos for doing the emblems. Should have watched them before ever plastidipping as I was trying to mask it like normal paint. So much easier after watching the vid.

Morning all, pre Hump day.

Hey! Leaving work in 45 minutes. Picking up my daughter and then heading to the Drivers License Center. If all goes well, she'll be driving herself to dance class tonight! (nailbyt)

Have never tried plastidip and probably a good thing or I'd be addicted like Bruce. haha Looking good though Bruce, I like the subtle changes you have made by using it.

well, yeah.. the MSM is likely to be sold in the spring... so he won't have the option.

(hand) I know that...at the time I couldn't find my pink font. :p

Drove the CX-9 this weekend. It's definitely a top contender. Feels right at home. Sporty, roomy, comfortable, all the features I like about my MS6 plus additional features I've wanted. Certified Pre Owned Touring models are selling for $25-30k depending on miles and I think I can swing that. I still have to look into the Ford Escape though and I've been told I should check out the Honda Pilot. It will be hard to get me to change allegiance though.

The pilot just feels BIG... The new escape looks nice, but I still remember my father in law's that lunched the transmission at 36k miles.

Good luck with the new driver Jeff.

I love the freedom that PlastiDip gives you. Very easy, no fuss, easy clean up. Some pics from today

nice work bruce! i need to redo mine, it's been a couple of yrs....my son just did his base board radiator covers in white...that get a bit rusty over time and they came out great!

How's it going folks? Looks like we're getting hit with snow again. Any time that happens, the mileage on my Fiat goes up. I'm currently sitting at 31.3 mpg average. Likely to be 32 by the time I get home.

I'm poking around at the CARFAX sheets on the CX-9s the dealer has on the lot. Should I be worried about a previous rental vehicle? Mazda offers a 100k 7yr powertrain warranty and that's better than buying new.

Pros of a rental vehicle? It gets washed often, usually driven between airport and hotel or on road trips, doesn't get abused in shopping mall parking lots, driven by adults old enough to rent a vehicle who are afraid of damaging it because of the hassle.

Cons of a rental vehicle? High miles in a short time (in this case 22k in a year), it gets washed often (by an autowash that scratches paint), occasionally you get a driver that beats on it.

Am I missing something? Here's the link to the one I like so far.

I worked for a rental car company and it's a crap shoot. Some breeze through life and are fine, others get pretty beat up. Check for leaks and get it on a hoist and see if someone has taken it for a joyride through a field or offroading.

Yeah, not sure a car driven through a field would get CPO status but I could be wrong. Before I sign anything I can have them put it up on a lift for me. I know what a leaking transfer case looks like ;)

...but that's something they'd have to fix under warranty so if there was an issue it would likely have been fixed already.
