NEMOC Random BS Thread

Hey Ash, how's life in Malaysia??

In Perdido Key now. Weather is much warmer, looks like steady 60's. Pouring rain right now but that will stop in an hour or so.

Looking forward to watching the pats tonite.

Watching the game now! Man...back and forth and Colts just dropped an INT in the end zone.

It's running well now. I took the MSM to the parts store to get coolant and just shifting into 2nd and 3rd got it all sorts of unhappy without touching the gas. 5 miles were enough for me.

I'll bet but it was effin cold to be out there pulling the t-stat. At least she's running well now.

Whats going on nemoc's , just did a gataway to MIA and loved it with few friends, nothing impressive beside few clubs but the company I had made it worth it. Now back to the freezing part of the winter ..

morning all. looks like the p5 is done...my son drove it for the last yr and it was solid transportation, but now the starter died and the tranny is slipping. he also need an inspection and he's got a cel to boot. looks like it will become a donor car...anyone need phats lmk.

Sorry to hear Mark, must be a little sad.

How's the house coming?

ya, i hate to see it go, had some good times with that car...oh well. the house slowed down a bit, i had the rough inspection on the wiring done last week. the plumber still has to to do a water test then we can get the insulation going then blue board. i think we'll still be in the apartment come april/may.

still have a few p5s left in the family at least :). i think im going to order my LCAs this week and hopefully get them on the car by end of the month

Ah too bad, well at least you won't be moving in the snow.

Poured rain most of the day yesterday. But today is nice and sunny, mid 60's which should feel warmer.

Just a reminder to anyone still in the Boston area. The Boston Auto Show is this weekend. I'll be in the parking lot 9:30AM on Saturday meeting some FB peeps then we'll head in together at 9:45. Join us if you can.

I realized the truck hasn't left the garage since Thanksgiving...and my bike hasn't either.

I have been playing a lot of Gran Turismo 6 though. The game is basically just a minor upgrade to GT5 but the new menu system and additional tracks are fun. I joined a spec racing league. Last Sunday was my first night of racing with them and I did pretty well. I pre-qualified for division 5. There are 7 divisions total and drivers work their way to the top division by winning races and keeping a clean driving record. We do 6 races, two per track/car combination. We qualify for the first race at each track then run the second race with a reverse grid based on previous finish. The reverse grid makes the second race very interesting. Slower drivers stack the pack up and everyone starts battling for track position. Despite being a mid-pack qualifier I came home with 4 wins. A lot of drivers were quicker, but not consistent enough. I set a lap time I knew I could repeat over and over again and was able to stay out of trouble for all but one of the races.

charging a miata (especially an NA) can be a slippery slope. It isn't too hard to add too much power to the car which will change the entire dynamic of the vehicle. Part of the charm of the miata is that while it isn't the most powerful thing out there, it feels fast, and it handles well. Too much power in a miata can make it a bit unwieldy and it removes some of that cheerful roadster charm.

if it were me, I'd do the roll bar and light suspension work before I went down the road of a turbo system.

i did see this picture and it got me all hot and bothered. turbo would make the car a whole other animal especially with my tires and suspension. it is the kind of project i wanted to do down the road. i just happened to see this deal come up and it looks almost too good to walk from
