NEMOC Random BS Thread

Boston got the worst. We got about 8-10" up here, nothing compared to the last pair of storms that dropped 20+ inches. Did a little skiing around the orchards yesterday but damn was it cold. I cleared the driveway this morning but now that the wind has picked up I think I'm in for the day. Oleg and I are going to XC ski tomorrow.

My tenant called a while ago and it sounds like the pipes on one side of the condo are frozen. Of course that's the side we share a cold water hookup with the neighbor, who conveniently isn't home. I've been playing phone tag for hours.

Man that sucks Chris. Hopefully nothing broke.

Spent part of the day at the Houston Space Center. Very informative.

Wow, I hoped you checked to make sure there was nothing in the bank!!

Well after 1 nice day, mid 60's, the temps are dropping again. 31f tonite, a balmy 42f daytime tomorrow and 26f Monday nite. Freezing will be an issue Monday nite.

Disconnect the water and turn on the tank heaters. Crap.

Happy New Year all! Hope the Holidays were great for everyone. Got some nice goodies for Christmas and took advantage of having the week off to do some things around the house. Took down the outdoor decorations New Year's Eve in anticipation of the storm coming through. :( Supposed to be nasty so be safe out there!

Saw this earlier, and got a nice little chuckle out of it....not at what happened but what's written near the bottom of the article. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/01/02/indiana-woman-accused-cutting-man-penis/?intcmp=latestnews

i feel soooo bad for you bruce!

In New Orleans today. Still cold, thanks Mark, but warming up to 50 tomorrow!!

Going to tour New Orleans tomorrow.

Yo yo yo! How's my NEMOC family? Staying warm I hope.

Finally thawed out here. So cold that the coolant in the Civic froze. People didn't believe me so I snapped a picture of my 50/50 mix (store bought that day) being frozen to my bumper and core support where I spilled it. It wasn't a fun couple of days getting that sorted out.

So did the T-stat freeze up then, or what?

Solid. I took it out, took it in the house, soaked it in hot water. Back to normal. I replaced what coolant was missing with straight stuff, let it circulate a bit. Had no issues today. I would have just replaced the bugger, but no part stores in the area had one in stock. I took the MSM out for emergency purposes to get the coolant and distilled water, but after she tried to play doreeefto shifting into 3rd, I decided not to drive any further. LOL.

Had a great day in New Orleans, been about 12 years since I was last there. Mary and I toured the French and Garden quarters and then walked Bourbon St.

Leaving for Pensacola tomorrow. Weather is still chilly but getting warmer.

Any plans to visit Panama City? I will be there for work at the end of the month.

Not sure Chris. We've got some tentative plans with no date but I need to drive out that way at some point in the next 2 months to look at RV parks. Post the dates and I will see if I can make it work.

Morning everyone! Starting to warm up here and low 50's tomorrow. Will be nice and bearable for changing the oil in the P5.

Thanks Mark and I'm sure there is more to it but thought it was ironic the dude was treated at Johnson Memorial. (lol2)

Pretty cool pics Bruce and if you swing into Panama City, check the local arcades to see if Hercules is still there. May not be as I last played it there in 1991 but at that time it was touted as the world's largest pinball machine. http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=2811 Since you will def. be there Chris you can do the same.

Phen, you are nuts for taking the t-stat out in this cold. I would have said screw it and took my chances doreefting everywhere in the MSM. lol How is the Civic running now?

Cool but sunny day in New Orleans. Some Pics.

It's running well now. I took the MSM to the parts store to get coolant and just shifting into 2nd and 3rd got it all sorts of unhappy without touching the gas. 5 miles were enough for me.

morning all.....my class might get canceled....if it does i'm seriously considering flying out to daytona the end of the month!
