Can't wait for the Glen! Hopefully Bruce will get the Ottowa folks out to the event too! Should be a lot of fun, the price is $30 for the weekend!

Nearly lost the MSM this morning. :(

A short, curving, steep-ish uphill ramp onto the interstate with a maybe 300ft merge lane. Really broken surface at the bottom of the ramp, so you can't do more than slowly roll over it. I did what I typically do and accelerate nearly WOT to be at highway speeds by the time I get to the merge lane to merge over as convenient, only to find an SUV was stopped in the merge lane. About 150ft ahead at 75mph. I probably would have plowed into it if I didn't still have my Carbotech track pads on. Hauled it down to ~20mph and then juked onto the gravel covered shoulder around it.

I was spewing insults for a good 15 minutes.

Partly my fault in that I should probably keep the speeds a bit lower until I can see the whole lane, but I can't excuse the driver of the SUV one bit.

Got 1 coming for sure, thought more would come but getting hotels in the area is not easy.

Glad to hear your ok Mike. Take care in the future, you never know what lies ahead.

wow, good job avoiding the suv! i see this a lot, people stopping on the entrance ramp...i mean if i had to i'd travel a bit longer in the break down lane, so i could "merge" into traffic...how can you merge safely if you've come to a complete stop?

Pretty good Phen, you??

Went to the eye dr for a checkup and to update my prescription. He dilated my eyes, spent the next few hours feeling like Dracula trying to avoid the sun.

Miata club had tech nite last nite so I changed the oil and had the mechanic check all the wheel bearings. Good to go.

Howdy gang. First dress rehearsal is in the books.

Congrats Ash to you and Ryan! Have a fun and safe trip! :) Sorry, can't help ya with a photographer..wait is this for you?

Nice manuever Mike! Could have been soooo much worse.

Mark, as for morons stopping while merging, I see it all the time around here. I too don't understand their thinking....let me slow down from 40 to 25 and then try to merge onto a highway where traffic is going 70?!

Bruce, always did hate getting my eyes dilated too. Our eye dr. offers Optomap as an alternative. Of course insurance won't cover it so it cost me $30 out of pocket but I can drive myself home.

So the new Mazda 3 hatch was leaked... Without any kind of camouflage and stuff...

Looks like a subie.

Morning all. Finally got a chance to wash the car yesterday. Pretty bad since I can't wash it at the RV park. She still needs to be clayed and cleaned again.

I have Evan checking out a miata for me in Ohio tomorrow after work. Ive gotten tons of photos and a personal walk around/driving video of the car along with lots of conversation. Feeling pretty comfortable to make an offer and just go out there, but a 3rd party checking out to make sure clutch, tranny, other mechanicals, will make me feel a little better :)

So... should I go with him? He doesn't really know much about Miatas and I'm right down the street.

if youd like to that would be great. I think he said he would be leaving right after work on friday to get to ashland around 630. owner lives in columbus and is more than willing to meet up. like i said, I just dont know how the mechanics of the car are but he pointed out every ding, scratch, and imperfection to me of the body and interior

Aaah, he's going tomorrow. Can't do that, but I'll tell him to give me a call if anything looks fishy.

so now Pablo is selling his msm and he asked me if I was interested. Id need just a $5k loan which would be around $115 a month in payments. it is really appetizing especially as I could pay it off really quickly. but the other i was looking at is a sunburst NA. both super rare and love them both!
