NEMOC Random BS Thread

see my post about sox tixs above!
chris, cub cadet are good...i bought a husqvarna at lowes last spring, i like it. the most important thing to me is HP and turning radius...too small an engine and it wil be straining once you miss amow because of rain and now it's 2" taller! also, if you have walks/trees and other obstacles to go around the tighter the turning the better...and also, make sure it hydrostatic tranny/drive
Thanks for the tips! The Cub Cadet has the best turning radius out of HD's selection. I'm gonna buy it there because I've been hording gift cards. Engine was decent size. We've got a few trees and stuff but with the chain link fence I'll most likely have to pick up a trimmer too. I was checking those out last weekend as well. I'm guessing the 4-strokers are better since you don't have to mix the gas/oil and they probably run a little quieter.

I know a lot of people like the additional weight from an aluminum or SS shift knob. I would think that CF would eliminate this?

Could always look at a weighted Delrin if you want the benefit of a weighted knob to aid your throws and eliminate the temperature extremes in winter and summer.

I just purchased a tractor last year. I got a John Deere LA135. 24 HP V-twin (2cyl is nice and smooth as opposed to a 1cyl). I'd be weary of buying a tractor at a big box store. See if you have a Deere dealer around you. You'll get the same price, but the customer service I've received from Deere has been exemplary. I'd highly recommend JD to anyone after my experience.

no doubt! JD is excellent....but was out of my price range unfortunately! if i was by this 20 yrs ago, sure...i'm not long for this big yard anyway.

What you think about Vibrant CF shift knob , any good suggestion on Delrin ?

The vibrant is about 85 grams at $75 I think Cobb makes a delrin knob for the Speed 3 and 6 (not sure if the thread pitch is the same for your application) that weighs 115 grams for $65. I think either one will handle temp changes better than an aluminum or steel knob which sounds like it's one of your biggest factors right now. Personally, I just throw a wristband around mine and call it a day.

Sorry NEPOC for neglecting you. I've been too busy driving my virtual '89 Miata. How do you like the rims? RockinVs in the other Miata is a member of Mazdas247. I don't think he installed an LSD on his Miata though because he was having trouble putting power down exiting the hairpins.

Busy leveling B-Spec as I'm typing this. It's nice to earn free credits every 40 mins. Extreme - Super GT races right now, dominating in the Mazda Furai Concept.

Good evening NEPOC. First ESI down and two to go. Weren't as bad as I thought going in. I found that if I took a deep breath and held it while they pushed the needle in it lessened the feel of the pressure. Of course it took the dr. a good five pushs to get the needle where it needed to be to inject the steroid. My entire upperback is sore as hell right now...just popped an aleve and going to ice it down later.

Nice race Chris and digging the wheels...that's the color my kids want me to paint my steelies.

I must have really missed whats going on with you Jeff. Hope you feel better soon though!

ya, that's about right...i just couldn't justify that much when i won't be here that long

good morning nepoc! sunny day today....off to me for the weekend helping a friend open his cottage, right on the lake....looking forward to the getaway!

Morning! Couldn't sleep yesterday, took a nap for a few hours at work and now I can't sleep again today so I'm going to go clean/wash/wax my car, that should tucker me out lol

Morning NEPOCers! Soo who wants to help me change out end links next weekend? Rear end link on DS is broken, think that is the source of my issue. Had Mazda check it out again before I spend all that money, and they said that it couldnt hurt to replace the broken end link to see if that is it, so I am going to do both rears.

What's up folks?

It's looking like LRP is going to be off the hook this year!

Morning everyone.

Cool parts Kyle and long story short....on 1/21 a tractor trailer hit me causing just over $1000 worth of damage but I've done two months of physical therapy, had two MRIs done (one neck, one shoulder), a cortisone shot in the shoulder, an EMG (nerve) test and now three ESI (epidural steriod injections) in my neck. Turns out my C4 and C5 discs are bulging and causing all of my symptoms (pain in the neck...that's what she said, shoulder/shoulder blade pain, swelling, numb feeling in left arm and hand from certain movements) and I've been out of work at my second job since the accident.

This shouldn't be an issue, I'm pretty sure that every NEPOC member has cut endlinks off at somepoint in time. lol Speaking of I need to remember to grease the bushings on mine tonight.

Morning NEPOC,

Went to get new summer tires mounted and put on this morning, walk in the door and am told they made a mistake when qouting me a price previously, went from $220 a corner to $167 a corner... after I picked my jaw up off the floor I knew it was too good to be true. I asked if I could see them and sure enough, they ordered Dunlop Direzza's instead of Direzza Star Specs. Oh well, should be there tomorrow. What a tease.

oh man Jeff! i remember seeing the pics from that accident. I just didnt think it was that bad based on those pictures :(

What's up folks?

im back on the fence of going :(. the wedding in the middle of the weekend really is a pain. I dont have anywhere to shower up or anything before the ceremony and home is quite out of the way from LRP.

also, i think the guy who backed into my bumper has bailed on paying (cannot get a hold of him anymore) so im stuck paying. Luckily its only costing $200 though so not awful but could still use that money elsewhere. luckily i dont have the car payment anymore so i can just think of it as just one more payment :).

Ill decide soon on LRP but im not a definite anymore but maybe ill be convinced at the spring clean meet
