NEMOC Random BS Thread

Other early 2006's had the same problem. I think the wiring got brittle in the heat (autox) and got torn from the vibration. When I tugged on it when trying to diagnose the problem, I probably ended up severing whatever little contact there was left.

What's wrong with this picture?

Dr says you ain't getting B+ to your ignition coils.

Now, how the hell do these connectors work and how I can repair it, well, I don't know yet.

I don't think you can fix that...

Time for a new connector and soldering in new wires. I have a spare wireharness here...can you post more pics of the connector and I'll see if I have it...or hit up a JY for Mazda bits.

oleg, the stealership didn't catch this? i would hope the parts dept might be able to get you a connector althoug they would prob just replace the harnes there and charge you an arm and a leg... splicing in a conn looks to be the best shot here?(shrug)

Sealed the deal with Kaizen Tuning. Woot!

Any chance they want to adopt a misbehaving genesis coupe?
This damn boost issue has me ready to sell the car.
I hate having a random issue that no one with the same mods seems to have and even the tuners are stumped.

Congrats man!

No mods. Problem solved.

... I can't believe I just said that. I better go to the doctor.

If you define the problem as the car is too slow...then no mods is clearly not the solution.
I told the wife I wanted to take it back and get the V6....she tried to kick me in the nuts.

What exactly is it doing with the mods you have?

yeah, my lawn isn't looking too hot right now.

figures the first year I have the appropriate tools to make my yard look good, we get a drought and my nice green lawn burns out.

The factory EBC seems to be allowing too much boost and although the tune should stop boost at 20 PSI it goes to 24PSI and then either the injectors are cutting or the clutch is slipping, the RPMs drop and then that car accelerates like stock again.
Its the worst in lower RPMs but higher gears.
The tuners think its a slipping clutch (which no one else has at this power level) in combination with a bad boost guage that is reading too high. I have mostly disproved that but am waiting on a new gauge.
Also I put a MBC in parallel to the factory EBC to act as a safety. So if the car does go over 20PSI, the MBC steps in and stops it from putting a piston through the hood.

Also the car looses a Christ load of power when its hot out.
I know heat soak could be the culprit but its a significant drop in power in the 4000+ RPM range between a 75 and a 90 degree day.

Where there are at least a hundred people with this exact set of modifications (Catback, intake, power axel tune) me being the only one having the problem is REALLY pissing me off.

Hmm, I'd expect an issue with the EBC (or even MBC for that matter) allowing too much boost at low ambient temps, but not with high. That's odd. Where is your boost gauge tied in?

If the clutch was slipping, the load would decrease at the particular throttle position and the boost would drop significantly. Hmmm.

I had a problem with the MSM losing a crazy amount of power under similar circumstances (including over boosting) and it turned out that my spark plugs were ruined. Of course I'm also running a wee rich...
