NEMOC Random BS Thread

OK, dealer says he can't cover $600 for after warranty assistance. Debating whether to try to repair the harness myself or go to the dealer for a pro repair (probably an hour's labor).
try another dealer? can't you do this?

Guess which one I'm using on my car ;)

Proof that Ash believes bigger is better. ;) hahaha

How much more oil can you add using the Bosch?

How comfortable do you feel doing the work yourself? If you feel confident enough or have someone with knowledge that can help, I say go for it. If you have any doubts, I'd ask around here as someone may be able to offer help, then I'd go to the dealer.

I think a proper fix involves taking out the pin and replacing it and recrimping it and I don't really have the tools for that.

Meh... Office picnic tomorrow and they want a side/dessert.. I'm torn on what to make.

This from the Mohican Fun Run we had:

Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle
1 Fudge brownie mix (13"x9" size)
1 Pkg. (10 oz.) Peanut butter chips
2 Pkg. (13 oz. each) Miniature peanut butter cups
4 Cups cold milk
2 Pkg. (5.1 oz. each) Instant vanilla pudding
1 Cup Creamy peanut butter
4 Tsp. Vanilla extract
3 Cartons (8 oz. each) Cool Whip

Prepare brownie batter according to package directions (can follow fudgy brownie directions, but cake-like brownies hold together better). Stir in peanut butter chips. Bake in greased 13x9" pan for 20-25 minutes or until done. Cool completely and cut into 3/4" cubes.

Cut peanut butter cups in half (put in freezer for about 30 minutes and they will peel much easier). Set aside 1/3 cup for garnish.

In LARGE bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes. Let stand until soft-set. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Fold in 1-1/2 cartons cool whip.

Place a third of brownies in large bowl (5 qt.), top with a third of the peanut butter cups. Spoon a third of the pudding mixture over the top. Repeat layers twice. Top with remaining 1-1/2 cartons cool whip and reserved peanut butter cups.

Or this that I make for family get togethers:

Fruit Salad:
4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
2 pounds seedless green grapes, halved
6 bananas, peeled and sliced
2 (8 ounce) containers strawberry yogurt

Optional:
Strawberry or plain Cool Whip.
Granola

Or I can just go stupid cheap and bring nothing with the excuse of me shelling out all the money to fix my cars....

Edit: On a good note, the base has 12 packs of Sam Adam's products for 11.99 and no tax.

what did you order? I just bought the new StopTech street performance brake pads from Zeckhausen... and a set of Centric premium rotors. Brake job waiting to happen!

In other news, Miata misfired at the autox this weekend (towards the end). Turns wiring harness going to the coils is bad. $600 part to replace the whole damn thing. Waiting on the call back from the dealer to see if I get pity warranty (1.5 months out of warranty). I guess it's a common issue on early 2006 Miatas when hot, the part has been revised at least once. If I can't get the warranty repair, I'm probably gonna try to repair the harness myself with a DMM.

Saw a GTR at the autox yesterday. An instructor went pretty fast in it, but didn't really push it too hard.

What about a salvage yard replacement?

Stuck with OEM pads. Did a search on Miata.net and consensus was stock pads are fine. No issues with mine.

Had a great drive to day. Had to put the top up for a while due to the heat. Heading for Yarmouth.

extra .5-1qt?

Also, there's speculation that it helps with the hydraulic lash adjuster tapping from lack of pressure...something about a better design/backflow/iunno.

Morning!

Jenn, did you see the link to the video I posted last night?
