Am glad everything is going well. You love those little rugrats like your own ones. The good part is that you can spoiled them and then send them back to their parents HAHAHA.

Oh that I know, I was referring to this.

"Getting a new lap-top next week with wifi card from AT&T.....will be posting the whole way! I cannot wait!"

I meant enjoy the trip with your family and kids. Sorry, just reflecting here. They grow up too darn fast.

You up late?

Work overnights remember? Sorry Josh just a little grumpy last night. I know they grow up fast, seems like everytime I blink they are a year older! And I only meant like when we stop somewhere, as I will be driving the whole way. Will be fun, First long road trip with the kids.

hey luke.. going back to tiling.. when are you doing that? I need to learn how to do that.. I'm tiling my basement this summer.

It's all good Tony. I remember when I was 8, my parents and I took a road trip from Brockton to Southern California. We were moving out there so we took our time and spent 2 weeks driving and visiting places. Oh the days before computers, cell phones, etc. I still have a Polaroid photo I took of the Grand Canyon.

Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if we ended up buying that house in Rialto instead of moving to Cape Cod. Loved Cali!

I did my kitchen and bathroom last spring. but my pup decided it was a great idea to drop is marrow bone on two of them and crack them so I need to do some repair/replacement of two tiles later this spring.

If you want to do your basement I'm always up to lend a hand. Its pretty simple if you have patients and take the time to lay it out and chalk it first.

We should do a NEPOC home improvement meet!!! I will have tiling to do, not sure when, but it's not a large space. I also want to do the hardwood floors but the half bath vanity changeout and now replacing my master shower are priorities. Found out that even after caulking everything and letting it sit for over a week, something with the shower still leaks. Looks like I'm going to end up tearing the shower out, figuring out what's wrong, then replacing the shower. I think I'm going to like the demolition part a lot more than putting it back together...

Yeah! when me and my mom moved to florida my freshman year, we took our time took us a full week to get there. Now I normally drive it in about 18-20 hours. But with the kids we are going to stop over somewhere for the night.

Good to know. We're probably going to tackle that job in june when Jess is out of school for a bit.

I can't wait to rip all that carpet out of there. I'm going to enjoy that.

You will be handsomely rewarded with food and beer.

Jen, your shower probably has the same problem mine did. The plastic drain was cracked, and I had to replace it from below. You don't have to tear the shower out.

The home improvement meet is a damn fine idea. Especially since some NEPOC members (coughcoughMEcough) aren't especially handy and could use the help.

June works best for me too. Spring is tough with coaching.

Is it a concrete floor underneath? The carpet may have been glued down. If so it will need to be scraped and cleaned (muriatic acid works well, but stink to hell).

You'll reward me by making me handsome?? Awesome, there is hope for me yet!

Sean is correct. Is it a tile shower? Or it could be the diverter in the wall (part that turns the shower on and off and changes form tub to shower). They can leak in the wall. You can get at them from the adjacent room.

There is concrete underneath. From what I've seen so far, hasn't been glued. It just has tack strips that will need to be ripped up.

Yeah, avoid tearing a shower out at all cost. It sounds fun, but it is not so great. If it is a stand up shower without a tub, usually you have to cut into the drywall several inches above the shower, as the shower has a lip that goes underneath. Plus if you have a small bathroom, you'd need to cut the shower into several pieces to get it out of the room. You'd also need to buy a three piece shower to put back in.

Not a tile shower, a one piece fiberglass/plastic one. Underneath is the popcorn ceiling and I've been told it's nearly impossible to match popcorn so I'm trying to avoid taking out the ceiling. The access from the side would be from the stairs... I'm not sure I could reach it... I'd have to take a picture, I don't think I can explain it well enough..

I would also want to make sure if its getting through the ceiling... i would be worried about mold forming unless you get into the floor (either through the floor of the bathroom, or take the ceiling down)

:'( I know.... the home inspection missed the slightly different popcorn on the ceiling but he noticed the small hole in the bottom of the shower... I'm POSITIVE the previous owner painted over it right before putting it up for sale...

Replacing a popcorn ceiling way easier and CHEAPER than replacing a tub surround. I would bite the bullet and cut the hole in the ceiling, fix the leak and then do the ceiling.

Hey guys, need a recommendation on All-Season Tires.

They are for my sisters mercedes. Allwheel drive. She only runs one set of tires all year so they need to be all-seasons and not summer tires.

Thanks!
