Sure, but its a long answer...
First off, we want a decent sized house. Amanda's parents are up there, and will likely be sticking around while my parents in Foxboro are most likely moving to Florida in a few years. Housing is cheaper in NH (a similar house in NH is 100-200K cheaper than metro-west) and Amanda can make more money once she's licensed in NH. My commute time would increase but I have flexible hours and can work from home a few days a week. It's also possible I could find work closer to the border. Oh, and the real ice breaker, if we decide to have kids, Amanda's mother has volunteered to help out with child care if we are close by. That's a huge bonus since my mother doesn't want to have anything to do with it aside from taking the kids for a weekend here and there...and they're probably moving away anyway.
We could probably move soon if it weren't for the condo. The banks won't let us refinance when we owe more than the current value and we'd have to front almost $40K if we decided to sell it, but obviously we need that cash to buy the new home. That leaves us with renting as the only option. It would help us recoup a portion of the mortgage payments on the condo and if/when the market improves we could unload it in 10 years without taking a loss. My car will be paid off March 2012 so until then monthly expenses would be tight but after that I'm pretty confident we can float both mortgages, especially if we have a renter.
Morning all! Haha feels like a normal week day since I have to work 8 hours at the second job.

MOrning all from Ontario. Weather has been very nice up here. Was out fishing for part of yesterday. Dad is doing well, but he doesn;t do much.
Will be heading back home tomorrow.

Good afteroon.....took the better part of the day to re-paint the front door and sidelight as well as new hardware. Old color was maroon w/brass hardware, we now have black with satin nickel hardware. It looks sooooo much better.
All sound like very nice oppurtunities Chris...do you prefer one over the other?

chris, my son is in the exact same situation! he'll owe about that much as well and wants that for the DP on the new house...only prob, he needs to live in MA...even the 300k houses here need work or in a not so great area, or too far away from the job...stinks!

Morning all from Canada. Mom comes home to day and I head back to home myself. Looking after my dad was better than I thought. We had a good time, did some fishing and chores around the house. My sister is coming Tuesday for a few days, gives me only one day of down time. I feel like I have been out of the house for almost 3 weeks now. Need some down time soon. And a NEPOC meet!!

Ok... For the sub tour.. I can do 3-4 at a time due to the fact you'll have to go with me in my car. I can't plan it far in advance because the subs schedules are classified and can change. Sat and Sun are the best days and it all depends on which subs are in port.
The most I can plan ahead is maybe a week or two. That's it. Any farther and things might be canceled at the last minute.
For those who are a bit away in distance, you are more than welcomed to setup a air mattress and crash at my apartment. I have enough room on the floor.
