NEMOC Random BS Thread

I've been along route 2 which is a little bit south of there. Most are logging roads...so expect to be stuck behind logging trucks on the uphills, and to have them breathing down your neck on the downhills. Route 2 is a 2-way road but speed limits hit 50-60 in some places. You'll only find gas stations in the major towns so don't hold out for something better.

The kits are great for those who do not have detailing equipment/products. Basically it's the same stuff, but in smaller quantities. I brought it with me on Sat. too. ;)

The plastic on in my dash for the instriment panel was scratched up by the previous own. Do you think it will work for that as well?

Bruce - I just (kind of) caught up on here and I didn't realize you were moving. I would have tried a little more to stop by for at least a half hour at Jenn's on Saturday had I known.

No worries Luke. Be around for a bit yet I think.

What's the word on your Dad's s2000? You still taking it?

The brake saga continues. Went up to Werner to get the new caliper pin and seal. Looks to be the wrong one. Props to the guy at the parts counter, he checked with the tech and found that the bottom one is different. But according to the diagram it's the correct part. The parts guy called around and found a dealership that had one and asked them to see what it looked like. So we finally got the correct part number and the part will be in tomorrow.

But the car is down for another day.

Good to hear, I'll try to make the next one if you'll be there.

I won't really know till the spring if he's going to replace it with a Vette or keep it for another summer.

Because it's full of silicone??

Hey, that's my line!!

Pickup the parts at noon today in Manchester. Real Estate agent is coming over tonite so we can sign the papers and get the house on the market.

This makes me a (sadbanana)......

Glad you finally got the right part for your brakes. I may be buying a Progress rsb later tonight. If so, I'll be able to use the stock endlinks that I have in the hatch.

Well you better go get it then! Lol. Awesome bro.

Marc returned my stock exhaust today. Thanks bro. Took 10 minutes to clean the tips.

What'd you use?

I mean my tips are perfectly clean, sparkling even, but if they were say, even dirtier than above what would I use to clean it up?

Well, I used a small polishing pad (only for metal) and Poorboys SSR3. There are any number of polishing compounds available. Depends really on the condition of the metal.

Yup, Never Dull is great stuff. Be sure to put a polish on the metal after. That will keep them clean longer.

A note on Never Dull. Do not leave it on plastic as it will melt it. I left a piece on a CD jewel case and that stuff destroyed it.

so the car felt really good, i ran it only at 18psi and thats very conservative considering the limits of the Turbonetics GTK-500, boost doesnt fully kick in till around 4000 rpm, i dont get 100% traction till mid 2nd gear on street tires ( remember its AWD so thats (crazy), gotta fix that, but all in all aside from scaring the crap outta me because it was so fast, it went really well.. the car is no way near finished, alot of stuff still to be worked on,adjusted, installed.
