NEMOC Random BS Thread

I got realllllllly lucky today. Was supposed to be outside ALL DAY doing building inspections (abandoned buildings...no heat). My bosses must like me; called me around 8:30 and told me to go monitor a building demolition...which means I get to sit in a Mazda RX-8 all day (cabpatch)

Also, snow is on the way this weekend!...especially for southeast Mass / Cape Cod. How much? Don't know yet. Could be >2 inches...could be 6+. But in that area we're looking pretty good for some sort of snow event. CT and mid/western MA, not so much unfortunately. Maybe some snow showers.

I think I saw Carlson in a couple of those!!! LOL

(huh). it was in St. Louis. trust me, my valets dont do burn outs or drift. I fired a kid last week because he drove a brand new 335i on 3rd gear up a hill. the whole garage smelled like burned clutch for hours.

Seriously, I would have to kill if someone did that to my car. That's insane. How do people not smell the burnout rubber?

some ppl are just oblivious to things.

Man I miss one day and I have to read through three pages!

Got some serious kidney stones yesterday. Started out feeling like typical back pain (I see a chiropractor regularly). Half-way to the the chiro office the pain got unbearable. I had the cruise control set to 35 so I didn't have to keep my foot on the pedal. When I got there my Dr knew instantly that it wasn't back pain and called an ambulance. It took them until we got to the hospital to get some pain meds in me because the dispatcher was a b****. By that time, I had lost all my breakfast, and dinner the night before. Whatever they gave me didn't cut the pain very much but it slowed my breathing a little. While waiting for a cat scan the pain went away on its own and I was fine for a while. They caught three 2mm kidney stones on the scan but sent me home because they are small enough to pass. About 2 hours later the pain came back and I again lost my lunch despite being on the highest dosage percocets. This time the pain passed pretty quickly so I didn't have to go back to the hospital. This happened a few more times yesterday but by the evening I was starting to feel OK. Man, I have never felt so much pain in my life.

So back to the AT&T vs Verizon thing... I get the best of both worlds. Instead of dishing out $30-40/month for a data plan, I'm using a cheapo phone I've had for a while on the Verizon network. I used my savings to buy an iPod touch. Obviously it doesn't have a network to run on but you'd be surprised at how many places have free wifi. My house, my work, my parent's house, most malls, the hospital (i was able to post to facebook while eating a popsicle in the ER).

I've been following it as well. www.intellicast.com So excited!

Typical big budget movie style... but looks good.

Sure does!

Glad to hear you are ok Chris, though stones do suck for sure. Have not had the pleasure myself thankfully.

Sorry to hear about the stones Chris! I myself have never had them but my dad has and I remember the pain he went through.

Just returned from the IMAX today. A Christmas Carol in 3D = Amazing!

Yes, Mary and I saw it a few weeks ago. Awesome

....morning everyone! well, getting ready for my first of many days on the slopes this winter!

Nice Ryan. Looking forward to getting out myself.

Oldest daughter is back home. Her boyfriend took Mary's car and brought it back in one piece. Off to the gym today. trying to get back in shape and cope with some work stress. Looking forward to a few days off next week.

Hope you are on the mend Chris. Haven't had it myself but seeing my dad and a few others, can't say i'm in a hurry to experience it.

You have no idea how much I want another "Blizzard of 2006"...or 1996...or 1993.

27 inches in 24 hours here in the 2006 storm.

For the Cape, 2006 storm was not as bad as the 2005. I had snow build up from coming through the garage door side, even though it was closed!

We have a central mailbox unit on our street. Could not get mail for 2 days because the mail truck could not get to it, and the people further down the street could not get out at all.
