Man I miss one day and I have to read through three pages!
Got some serious kidney stones yesterday. Started out feeling like typical back pain (I see a chiropractor regularly). Half-way to the the chiro office the pain got unbearable. I had the cruise control set to 35 so I didn't have to keep my foot on the pedal. When I got there my Dr knew instantly that it wasn't back pain and called an ambulance. It took them until we got to the hospital to get some pain meds in me because the dispatcher was a b****. By that time, I had lost all my breakfast, and dinner the night before. Whatever they gave me didn't cut the pain very much but it slowed my breathing a little. While waiting for a cat scan the pain went away on its own and I was fine for a while. They caught three 2mm kidney stones on the scan but sent me home because they are small enough to pass. About 2 hours later the pain came back and I again lost my lunch despite being on the highest dosage percocets. This time the pain passed pretty quickly so I didn't have to go back to the hospital. This happened a few more times yesterday but by the evening I was starting to feel OK. Man, I have never felt so much pain in my life.
So back to the AT&T vs Verizon thing... I get the best of both worlds. Instead of dishing out $30-40/month for a data plan, I'm using a cheapo phone I've had for a while on the Verizon network. I used my savings to buy an iPod touch. Obviously it doesn't have a network to run on but you'd be surprised at how many places have free wifi. My house, my work, my parent's house, most malls, the hospital (i was able to post to facebook while eating a popsicle in the ER).
