NEMOC Random BS Thread

I know it! The little man's first day of pre-school! then I will finally have quiet in the house in the afternoons! WOOHOO!

So my friends are getting married....on Halloween! We are going to have the ceremony and such in my backyard. The cleared out woods make for a perfect backdrop and we plan to do a ton of decorating. Everyone will be in costume. Should be fun.

Neat! A guy here in the Cleveland 6 Club got married on Halloween last year. They had a big Halloween party, but didn't tell anyone of the wedding. They arrived as Frankenstein and the bride of Frankenstein, then announced it.

Just a little morning humor!

I spotted a MX-6 while I was in Colorado. Looked to be all original and in mint condition. Thought of you Ash.

aww...but see a true friend would've brought it back for me ;)

Hey Ash, took my road bike out for the first time. Started out on a bike path near me on nice, freshly paved asphalt. 2 miles down the trail, crushed limestone. I was just going to stop, but since it was packed down pretty well, I kept going. It returned to pavement about 2 miles later and stayed that way till the end. Total of 12.3 miles. Made it a short ride due to the time of day. Averaged close to 16 mph on the paved sections, but only 12ish on the limestone sections. Can't wait to take it to the good trails near me. There's one that goes from the Cleveland Zoo to the Akron Zoo. It's about 30 or so miles one way. I will do that before the end of the season.

nice! except that sweet-ass bike of yours is meant for the road! And yeah, I hate riding on anything but pavement...tires weren't made for that sort of thing. Have you road biked before or is this you starting out?

Just starting out. I was pretty upset about the whole non-pavement thing. The Cuyahoga Falls trails are all very nicely maintained and paved. Near my house, the roads would be a bit... less ideal. Country roads are nice, but these are sometimes almost as rough as the crushed limestone path was. Hahaha. I was thinking to myself yesterday "If I wanted to run on the damn gravel and stuff, I'd ride my 29er and go to the woods!"

Awesome! Make sure to get lots of pictures!

I kinda wish I wasn't going golfing after work. I want to go cruise around!

where are you?

edit: nm, saw your post. I was thinking it was somewhere in europe again...

Yeah.... Fort Worth until tomorrow. Possibly going back to Europe at the end of September but I think the meeting will be in Italy this time.

Bumpy roads are better than avoiding pedestrians, I'll tell you that much. Also, I bet if you get 5-10 miles from your house you'll find better roads.

Indeed. I've been scouting roads. I do believe I found a few that are friendly. In fact, the one goes from my house to my cousin's house. From there, I have about 4 different routes I can take which are all pretty nice. Some guys I work with ride too. I'll probably be going with them soon.

For Sean...
