NEMOC Random BS Thread

Sounds like a plan.

At this rate, I don't know if that diesel will ever make it stateside. :(

Robin keeps insisting because I talk about new/the new ND and stayed up to watch that stupid US unveiling, that I must want a new car. I told her I would never get rid of the msm! She doesn't believe me, how sad! ;)

I used to say that I'd never get rid of my MSM. Then I did and am strangely enjoying the FWD again. Plus, may have another little something on the way too.

Happy Humpday! Figured I'd fill in for Bruce. :)

Still trying to decide what route I want to go for snow tires for the Miata. Given the fact there is hardly anything to choose from in a 16" tire size, I'm leaning very heavily towards selling the 16's and buying some 15's, either steelies or cheap alloys. I've been scouring CL for Honda, BMW and Mini wheels. Found some Minis local for $250 for the set, $10 cheaper than steelies online.

But getting there Jeffey.

No ND in my future. Will keep Mia for some time.

Yep, I'll be in that AARP club soon. :p

What? We are adding something new to the stable? Last I knew you have the....Fiat, Bavaria, Civic and 2002.

Miata will be hibernating soon, so I picked up this 2004 Saab 9-5 2.3t for $800. Was a trade-in at my work. Engine, trans, body, all in excellent shape. Just needs some minor exhaust and suspension work.

In reality, the 2002 belongs to someone else, and he needs to get the bugger out of my yard before I drop it off in his front yard. But yes, Fiat, Bavaria, Civic and coming soon...

1981 VW Rabbit Convertible. Super clean car, needs a couple little things to get it back to running 100%, but the owner has had it sitting in his driveway with an expired temporary tag for a bit, and the City saw it and bitched. I traded a bunch of parts worth some cash (that I didn't feel like putting effort forth in selling) for it. He's gonna sell the parts and get the money that he was trying to sell the car for, and I'm gonna get the car out of his way. More than likely, I'll flip it next spring for some cash BUT, it's set up for autocross as it sits. Suspension, LSD, some power mods, and different wheels / tires.

Awe come on. You can barely manage the cars you have!!

That's true, but alot of that also falls under the category of "I'm feeling really lazy and don't care right now." Which is unfortunate.

Installed my new wind screen, ditched the plastic OEM piece that really didn't work anyway. Thing works great specially with windows up, little wind noise and not so much blowing too

Howdy! Got my parking all paid for for tomorrow night. Taking the girl child into Brooklyn to see The Weeknd at the Barclays Center. Was going to hop the bus at the local park and ride and then grab the subway at the Port Authority but Trans Bridge wants $45 per round trip ticket! No thanks, I'll pay the toll at the Holland Tunnel and park in the garage next door. Should be interesting though as it will be my first time ever driving in Manhattan. (eek2)

Nice pick-up Josh and perfect for the winter months.

Didn't know, thought the 2002 was an old project car. Any plans for the Rabbit or just auto-x it and then sell as-is next year?

I know it's not the same car but for some reason this movie popped into my head and I see Phen out in the driveway washing it to impress the ladies. :)

Cool, I'd like to get a better one eventually as well. Just have to find one that I like. There doesn't seem to be a big choice for the NB.

if we make it run on fry oil too, you've got yourself a deal :)

I can get two 55 gallon drums of the stuff from the Country Club where I work....let the experiment begin! (evil)

Don't tempt me dude.. I almost did it with a Benz Turbo Diesel estate wagon shortly after graduating from school.

It originally was a project car, until I realized that I could get a running, driving car in better shape for less than what I'd need to put into the drivetrain alone. Lost interest in it a couple years ago. Now... no matter how much I try to get rid of it, the damn thing won't go away.

And that VW is super close. It may actually be an early one like the one that I'm getting. First clue is that it only has the single round headlight vs the two on later cars.

To be completely honest, I dunno what I'll do with it yet. The logical move would be to sell it next year when the weather is nice. I've never been known to be logical in my vehicle experiences.
