my turn my turn!

Happy Friday or Thursday before my Friday off. :) After dropping Tam off at work tomorrow, it's off to physical therapy and then to the dealer to get the 15K service done on her car. Hoping to test drive a Mazda2 while I wait. :)

Good enough reason as any. I've slept in the Miata before (not drinking, waiting for someone). It didn't work too well. I've slept in the Bavaria before too. Man... that s*** is awesome. That back seat is as big as my couch... where I sleep way too often.

Power is back on at the house. We got connected yesterday around lunch time. So 4.5 days with no power. Now I just need the snow to melt so I can clean up the branches, rake the leaves, cut the grass, and winterize the irrigation system.

Has anyone installed a camber kit before? Looking at my front tires, I think I should get one before I mount my new snow tires. Inside edge is wearing faster.

Toe is more a culprit to inside tirewear than camber is. Make sure you check that too.

I had the car aligned not long ago so I am pretty sure the toe is in check. The Pirelli tires have just gotten unbearably loud and I can visually see inside tire wear but no cupping or anything. That leads me to the following conclusion...

One Side Wear
When an inner or outer rib wears faster than than the rest of the tire, the need for wheel alignment is indicated. There is excessive camber in the front suspension, causing the wheel to lean too much to the inside or outside and putting too much load on one side of the tire. The car may simply need the wheels aligned, but misalignment could be due to sagging springs, worn ball joints, or worn control arm bushings. Because load has a great affect on alignment, be sure the car is loaded the way it's normally driven when you have the wheels aligned; this is particularly important with independent rear suspension cars.

True, true.

Wanna see some fun negative camber in the rear of a car... check out my BMW. I'll try to get a good picture of it when i get home. Has to have about 4 or 5 degrees going on right now... and it's considered normal.
