NEEWB MSP turbo help!

hey guys so this msp is my first turbo car, im not very familiar with turbos but lately there has been something i have a question about my car, ok so as soon i start my car up on a cold start and i drive off, my turbo spools and boosts strong and smooth in every gear but as soon i get to a stoplight and my car idles for a while and gains temperature then my boost isnt so strong anymore, when i accelerate in any gear i hear the turbo spooling up but nothing happens, it is as if my car was getting pushed back by like a strong wind or something. i really dont know what it can be? or what can i do to fix it. i DO know that the msp was sitting for quite a while because the owner didnt know how to drive stick as it was his sons that moved away. i dont know if that can be a problem. also a friend of mine told me that my valves were ticking they dont tick too bad but i was wondering if i need to adjust the valves or do a compression test? what do u guys recommend? or also i know i need to change the oil and spark plugs and whatnot since it was just sitting there.? also if i tune the car will it fix the lag on the turbo? thanks (dunno)

do a tune up. plugs, wires, coils, new oil, etc..

a tune will fix the hesitation, but you need something to tune with. stock ecu can't be flashed

you need to buy a unichip, SSAFC, megasquirt etc... otherwise youd have no way to tune the car

so i need one of either one of those? how much for the unichip? and i was wondering if the mazda dealership service center can check it out? or where can i take it?

why does it only lag when the engine is warm tho? i dont think i might have a leak like other users say because wouldnt it not boost when its cold as well? but it does when its cold so i dont know im confused.

great! so if the pcm gets flashed by the dealer does that mean that it will be ready for tuning or am i wrong?
also with the intercooler heatsoaking does that cause the turbo to hesitate?

the dealer flash advances the timing and that gets rid of the hesitation. as far as ems, the ss afc you can tune yourself. the unichip you have to take to a tuner who has their software. the heatsoak makes the car feels sluggish as its essenrially inhaling hot air. an intercooler upgrade should be the first mod. changes the car completely

ok cool i wonder how much they would charge? and also if i get a fmic will it be effective since i have stock turbo?

i dont know how much they will charge for the reflash. i recommend it because my car is flashed and i have never experienced any hesitation, stock or modded.

a fmic or upgraded smic will wake up the car a good deal. there's an ion fmic and turbohoses smic for sale on the forum right now.

1 hour shop labor rate.

If you are planning on getting an ems system then you may not want to get flashed. Kinda of pointless if you are going to tune or be tuned. Otherwise get the flash.

so in other words if im keeping the stock turbo i should flash and get rid of the hesitation if not then, i should get the unichip and upgrade to fmic and everything else right?

my car is flashed and i have plenty of mods. ss afc, intake, exhaust, fmic. and i have no issues. mod away!!!

ok cool so do you think the flash would get in the way only if i want a turbo upgrade? because im thinking of getting fmic, exhaust,CAI will it affect it?

so i called mazda and they said that there was a 98 dollar flash charge and that they do not guarantee it will fix the hesitation issue? any ideas
