ok cool, but which parts are we talking here? housings?

how would the gsl se ECU know how much fuel to add under boost for a 12A? i thought the 85 gsl se rx7s with fuel injection were 13B?
The GSL doesn't even have an ECU for fuel delivery... It's carb'd.... I'm currently running an SP 12a, and before the spring, I'm going to be purchasing a turbo setup for it from Rotary Shack... They sell "blow through" turbo setups that will work well with my holley carb... Have you looked into that at all?

never knew such a thing existed...you have a link? i am assuming racing beat wants new housings to perform the porting on - how much do those run?

Well its very hard to find housings in great shape for a rebuild, they are the items that I would buy new. The cast irons are usually the most reusable part, depending on the stepwear. I prefer carbon apex seals myself, being that if you use these, they wont destroy your housings should they break. They will give you lower compression than steels, but they seal well at high RPM's. The inner and outer oil control rings can be reused most of the time, depending on how much wear they show. Corner seals depend on the wear also, most of the time they are junk, easily told by the wear groove they get from the side seals. If its a groove, its garbage. If its a shadow, they are reusable. I could go on and on, but I get the feeling that you wont be getting this deep into the build, unless you do it yourself. If you do, I'd be happy to help you with more info.

Also its my understanding that you would have to have a standalone to control that, unless you do a blowthru like Dan is talking about.

just doing the rebuild/port sounds like its going to cost as much as droppin a 13B in the car, maybe more :( damn

i want to keep it piston free :)
hahaha nice, if it were my money i woudl swap in a turboII motor, tranny, harness, ecu, fuel pump with a custom driveshaft to a gsl-se rear end this set up should be fun and last a while if done right

i have the gsl-se rear axle (whee!) so thats part of the process right there...

will the fuel pump from a 2nd gen 'drop in' to the 79 tank? do you know what numbers are needed for the driveshaft? have I ever told you you're my hero? :D

i know you can source alot of these components through SPD, might you be able to put $number$ together for me? i'd love you long time and give you happy ending

if you get it for that price it is a good deal you could part it out and make some money or keep it for a project car

yeah true, i'd like some more pictures though and more info. i emailed the guy and he hasnt responded yet with either. last time i looked at a car that "ran good" it was a 1986 chrysler laser. say no more than that

speak o the devil i just got an email;

drivers window doesn't work wires broken in door jamb,rear wiper motor runs but not wiper,heater core leaks has been bypassed
drives good runs good rough idle brake wear indicator is chirping, heater core is bypassed itwould be cold trip I would trailer or dolly it.
