So I went on vacation this week and came back and saw that my CD's were missing. I found out that my dad drove my car and forgot to lock it. Now my CD player wont turn on and it stays half way down sometimes, and wont respond when I press any buttons.

(I figure who ever stole my CD's tried to steal my CD player as well, but there is no damage)

What should i do?

No, on the faceplate there is a little white button you can push in with a pen. Push that and it will reset it. You will lose all of your settings but it should fix the problem. I got sick of mine doing that so I just put the Sony I took out of my last car in and it made a huge difference.

as far as the CDs:

file a police report, then a homeowners claim (they'll give you a certain $ for each CD) if the value of the CDs exceeds your deductible

it shouldn't really matter if your car was locked, it's still theft if someone takes CDs that aren't theirs ;)

Have your dad buy you a new CD player and CDs.

What a dumbass!

Wow, I didn't know about the white button, will have to check.

I called the dealer when it happened to me and I was told to pull the fuse and reinsert it. I did and it fixed it, but also had to reset my settings.
