All,

I have taken my car to a mechanic who was supposed to change my axle boots and ended up messing up my transmission. He is uncertain what is wrong whether it is the gears or the bearings. I was wondering if anyone could help just by description.

When the car is in motion, it makes a metal grinding noise. Sound like something is getting whinded up. Can anyone help??

Thanks,

D

Perhapse you should take it to another mechanic.

I was looking for some help, not sarcasm. If you don't have anything constructive or of use, then don't comment.

whinded? if u mean winded up, could be ur bearings... just speeding up as they go round a round, but if it is grinding... it could possibly be ur gears out of synch or something bad... either way... i'd find another mechanic, or someone thats real good with mazdas... cuz if u let that go, what may only cost a couple hundred to fix could end up costing 2 grand... hope this helps, and dont take my word for it, im just assuming stuff here... but still hope it helps

New mechanic was not an option, but a must. Actually, I am taking the car to a transmission repair shop tomorrow. This guy has good experience with Mazda's. I hope that this costs a couple hundred and I know that the original mechanic does too....its coming out of his pocket. Again, thanks for your help!
