Need help purchasing P5

A couple of months ago I was in the market for a P5 (for a short while), but had to back down because of some retarded dealer by my house. Now I'm definetly in the market now because my car will be going to my dad (his 01' Protege went to my brother).

The reason I backed down last time was because my dealer tried selling me a Yellow 03.5 P5 for about $20k OTD. Those cars were going for much less in early January. So now I'm back in the market and need a few prices that I should pay. I'm guessing their even cheaper now because the Mazda 3 has been out for a while.

I will be going through my own bank so it is a cash deal. (Chicago Area)
I would like black or yellow, but any color would do except white.
I HAVE to have the leather/cd changer option, and the ABS/side airbag option. All other options I don't care about but am willing to pay for if they come with the car. I want to know how much I should pay OTD.

thats what i said until i saw the white p5. then i fell in love with it.

anyway, good luck trying to find one. i havent seen many around the lake county area. you should have posted this in the illinois section, most of them may not see this and they could answer your question.

Get an internet quote for one you like through the MazdaUSA site, the quote I got was about $3K off of the sticker for mine and then I went down from there.

We paid $16K (awaiting $500 student rebate though, so it should become $15.500) OTD. That includes the leather, side airbags, abs, subwoofer (which i have no use for, but it was there) and roof rack (and it is a manual). It obviously includes our local car sales tax which is kinda on the high side.
Dunno if it's a very good deal or not but we didn't try too hard - so you should get at least that much.

You'll never get accurate answers when asking for OTD prices since TT&L costs vary depending on where you live. The only cost you shoud be thinking of is the selling price of the car which is negotiable.

With that said, you should be able to get a bone stock P5 for around $12,500. Just add the dealer costs of the options to figure out the final price of the model you are after.

I got mine for $14,400 OTD back in late November. The car had a sticker of $18,205. I got about $3500 off in rebates in addition to the X-plan price. If you can still find a P5 around at dealerships, you shouldn't have to pay any more than around $15000 for a fully loaded one, I would think. They have to be getting pretty anxious to get them off their lots.

Damn I give in too easily.. i got mine for 12k (with 2k off for president's day weeked).. and it's a 2002.5 with 19k miles at the time. looks like for a few K more I could have had one new, oh well. Oh and I think the only option I have is moonroof.

Edit: and 10 minutes from my house there is a black 2002 with moonroof and chromed OEM wheels with 18k miles selling for 15k... guess that's why they haven't sold it yet.

bought one from IN. Got the car for $14.8 +TTL. So it'll be about $16 OTD with extended warranty (7yrs/100k miles). i got every option (xcpt the mirror/compass), but i did get the cargo net . thanks to all that helped.
