Not exactly. The 02.5+ cupholders will NOT drop in to a 01-02 without modifying the center console. I swapped my 03 P5 cupholders into my MP3 and the MP3 has a small piece of plastic that runs across and needs to be cut off. Not a big deal, but it's not a direct swap. And I'm pretty sure the pre 02.5 ones are shallow on both sides.. not just the passenger. Or maybe I just never paid much attention.

I also never knew these came in black from factory...

ah, right... forgot about backward compatibility. and yes, both sides are shallower, but supposedly the passenger side was almost unusable it was so shallow.
