whats up guys, i need to know if anybody knows what other cars have our engines and ecu's. i heard the focus SVT might be the same, i work a lot so dont have much time to search and call around. im trying to hook up my emanage and i was hoping there was a harness out there that would work or at least some info on what pins to use. thanks

svt focus is NOT the same.

as far as i know the FS-DE 2.0l is used on obsivously mazdas, older ford probes, and a few limited number of Kias. ECUs are usually vehicle specific.

ya the kia Sportage has the same motor except i think the block is cast iron. the 626 has it aswell

If the block is different then its not exactly the same motor anymore, huh! I thought our blocks were cast iron....was i mistaken?

so does that mean that the probe and mx6 have the same ecus as the p5? does apexi or greddy make harnesses to hook straight up?

the probe and the mx6 DO NOT have the same ECUs. missing a few odd sensors here and there between the two cars. FS-DE has an iron block with an aluminum head and a forged crank. there are no apex or greddy units or harnesses that hook up and the S-AFC style units are proven not to work on these cars.

The second generation Ford Probe and MX6 had either the 2.0 FS-DE or the 2.5 K series v6. first generation Probes/MX6s had the 2.2 8 valve four cylinder turbocharged or nonturbo or an optional 3.0 taurus v6. The last generation 626 also had the FS-DE or the 2.5 liter v6. the engine in the Sportage and the Sephia was a 1.8 liter mazda FE3 I believe, with an iron head AND an iron block.

the 2.0 'zetec' in the focus bears nothing in relation to the FS-DE nor does the base model 2.0 in the new mazda3.
