Earnhardt killed himself?

The race was won. He did something he didn't need to do. I know he was a great driver, and it sucks that he died. I have seen death at the track. I don't care what form of racing - it's a tragedy. Don't take what I said the wrong way. He got caught doing something he had done a 1000 times before, but this time it caught up with him.

He never listened to Simpson's advice on mounting the belts correctly. He thought he was bigger than the sport, and Nascar thinks they're bigger than Simpson Safety gear. They tried to sue him!!! He countered.

The fight isn't here. It's in Iraq!

I'm with ya. Sorry, it was just a big thing. I've lived my whole life around auto racing, and the death of ANY race driver is rough. We moved to Indianapolis because it's the racing capital of the world. My parents live in Sebring where they hold the 12 hour sports car race.
I live for this stuff, and all I've ever wanted to do is race, so I'm starting out about as small as you can, in SCCA.
Never meant any attitude either, just don't like to see people disrespected.
But really, the Andrettis?? :)

I'm with ya! But; I have had the pleasure of meeting both Michael and Mario, and they are great people. All drivers make errors on occassion - no doubt, so I can't go and defend what happened at Long Beach.

Ever get over to Putnam Park Road Course in Mt. Meridian - down Highway 40? My cousin, Larry Haltom runs the facility for Richard Diasio. I grew up in Lawrence, and graduated High School at Broad Ripple, and also attended Jr. and High at Carmel.

All the best teams test there, and also, up and coming teams. You can just go out and watch practice, and testing. It's a great testing facility. About 40 miles from the IMS.

Bang for the buck here?....take a short 7 hour drive to Winder, GA for Petit LeMans. That is a blast!! What a great weekend!

twiztedjekel what's up with you man? Every thread I look at now you're in there being rude and hateful to people for no apearant reason. As for races, I love to watch WRC. Those guys just amaze me at the diffent kinds of terrain they have to run across. Mud, snow, tarmac, sand. It's all awesome to watch them. That's about the only racing I watch. Well I guess I watch a little MotoX also but not too often.

I come from a redneck town and should like nascar but there's just something about them that I don't like. That's all they do is "go fast... Turn left.." There's only a couple road courses. I know that they are cruisin at 180mph inches from eachother but that just doens't thrill me. I'd rather watch people balls to the walls going through a slolem sideways. But that's just my opinion.

Making jokes about someone that's had a tragic death doesn't seem all that funny to me. And you're right, it was started as a joke. I can understand making fun of nascar in general but not saying cruel stuff about someone that died.

NASCAR a joke? That's blasphemy! :D #2 Rusty Wallace all the way. And those comments about Earnhardt... truly twisted.(notcool)

your opinions are taken in. not wanted or valued or even thought twice about but i hear what your saying. so how about that davey allison? how's he doing in the points standings this year?
