N/A Mods advice

Thats what I figured though. I know any kind of custom fabrication work is going to cost a bit o change. Really, the only thing holding me back from seriously doing a swap like this would be the fact that my car is my daily driver. I work so much that I don't think Id be able to get a chunck of days off in sucession in order to put my car in the shop. Even worse, my gf shares my car with me (for right now) and she needs the car for her jobs as well. So I can't have the car in the shop for a long period of time. But in the meantime, before I go F/I in the future, Ill probably just stick with some N/A mods (engine and head work, bigger TB) and an upgraded ECU by means of a piggyback or standalone.

But yeah, enough of the turbo talk. This is the N/A section so thats what we'll discuss. I just got me a header/exhaust combo from Protephile so Ill probably go and get my header ported out some (if its needed) and then get everything port-matched. I also would like to get a valve job done, either 3 or 5 angle. Ive already been quoted by Engine Lab of Tampa to get both manifolds (IM & EM) in addition to my head ported and polished and then a 3 angle valve job. Everything then would be port-matched. Once I fix my hesitation problems (due to my CAI), then the overall feel of the vehicle is going to be dramatically improved. Then when I throw on the UDP kit and a new set of cams and cam gears, my acceleration should be improved as well.

It is going to be a tonne of work, no doubt. You'll probably need custom axles, custom engine mounts etc. You have to use the 5-speed though. Just the 140hp from the FE3 alone would blow your tranny. LOL.

A custom turbo kit isn't a bit deal at all. I honestly believe that you should probably start a thread in the FI section, because not only is this the wrong section for that, I refuse to talk about turbo tuning in this section. (enguard)

BTW, when you said, "peaked my interest." The word you were looking for is "piqued," not "peaked."

can i just install intake, headers exhaust, jspec intake cam,UR crank pulley, then port and polish plus headwork's without using engine management? i mean can i just have it done? with my stock ecu?

To anser your three questions.

1. I've got a set of similar product, but have yet to install them. Some swear by them, others think not.

2. Yes, you can do this. But keep in mind no engine management means you won't be able to tap the full potential of these mods. Quite honestly, if you're looking to throw down the amount of money you are, why not spend another grand and get a Microtech or other EMS?

3. Yes.

the problem is i dont have money yet.. im still researching if i can just have it installed and reset my ecu. so i can just use my stock ecu for the mean time? just reset it? thank you..

guy's iv got a problem, i installed the UR UDp.. my car wont start.. so i remove it and check, the stock only has 4 pin for my timing. the ur pulley has 20 +.. somebody installed UR UDP? pls help.

Your car uses a different crank position sensor than the USDM FS engines...My guess is yours is similar to what the Australian's have...pm Twilightprotege ... He had the same problem...You will need to return your UR pulley though, or modify it to work correctly...it would be a nightmare to try and adjust the car's computer and sensor for that...I think Andy was spotting a four bump "blade" portion onto the RR piece or something...

tnx for the help, can someone pls send me the same layout and size of the blade for the pulley? UR pulley's timing blades is a bolt on.i mean bolted on the pulley/so i think i can modify or custom the blade?if only i have the size and layout..

I have a Haltech E6X on my RX-7 and love it!! Pretty user friendly, but takes a dyno to yield the best results. As for P5s how do you reset the ECU and what changes when you do this?
