MZ3 v.s. 04Civic EX

Some kid in my town has the 04civic EX and asked me to line up some day. From what I know the civic is 160hp just like the MZ3 and they are both Vtec. Both are stock performance but I have close to 500lbs of sound in the hatch and he has nothing extra in weight. I am just wondering what everybodys opinion on the outcome of this race would be. I am thinking it is a drivers race.

EX civic has SOHC v-tec 127HP unless its an SI then it has a DOHC v-tec 160hp so if its an EX you will take him no prob

yea, Vtec is basically honda's way of saying variable valve timing.....

the ex is only 12# ish HP. the SI has the 160.

the Mz3 i trim has 14# HP while the Mz3 s trim has 160... Does anyone even have the Mz3 i trim?!

whats wrong with you people? the 04 si has 127hp vtec. there is no 04 si with 160hp... you guys are thinking of the ugly sir which does in fact have the 160hp but its slow as hell.

if you know how to drive youll **** the ex and kill the sir

ps: i believe the ex is the base which has no vtec and 107hp or sumthin

I was just messing with you.... I just find it amusing that a lot of non car people refer to all varible cams or timing as VTEC. I saw a DOHC VTEC sticker on a Cougar the other day but couldn't get the digi out in time

holy s*** batman this is one of those posts.......and as for VVT(S-VT) and Vtec.......2 diffrent species but same common ground....VVT advancs intake timing where Vtec extends valves and completely change timing so it torques from multiple rpms....since vvt isn't Vtec it uses other things to come damn near close to it like vis vilm and vtcs to get a better understanding on whats under the hood see link below

as for your system....can you hear people talk to you after you park and get out? you will have a lil bit of a difficulty if your system is that heavy
(mswerd) regardless to autostick or stick....if you lighten your load...you could go to town on him.... take off the resonator so you both can hear your engine...(Unless he has a turbo thru folgers can equipt)

Yep my last car had a 2.0 at least(Should have gotten the R/T...damn) I don't like civics cause just about everyone and their godkids has them and too many think a muffler and taillights will get thim in mid 12's...(screwy) Vtec is a great technology....to bad it's waisted on honda vehicles....yes it's basicly options untill you start getting into the Si and Type R...... and as for sir.....no comment.


P.S. I'm not a brand Nazi (headshake I've seen come nice civics...just not recently....whoever designed the Si should have been shot....repeadedly for thinking it even remotely looked O.K.....

yea. they made it to small. if they made it a bit larger in all dimentions it wouldnt be half as bad.

I think you can even take the Si (USA)/SiR (CAN) with a Mazda3S (USA)/GT(CAN) with not much trouble.

Ive been laughing since monday!!!

So on monday i see in my neighbors driveway a civic, and i was like, "No way did he get a civic!" so then then next day i get a message from him online saying how nice his car is, i was just amazed at how much of a ricer it is, so now every single weekend i hear him reving up his engine in his drive way, i swear im going to take my resonator of and rev my Mazda all day!!! Whats goin on guys. im new to the site and just bought a mazda 3s 5 door. a couple days after, i met a jackass off the road with a 4 cyl. accord. 2004. lx or ex im not sure but he took me just by a little. i think it was his torque that made me feel like the jackass in the end lol. but yeah thats just my story i thought i should let you all know. lol.

All i know is that that civic looks like poop. no shape to it whatsoever. As for accords, that's a different story, but then again, they're heavy as s***.
