Mykflo's Mazda2

finally got around to installing the swaybars. The matsu one looks nice but the rear corksport swaybar really made a difference. I took a fast left and could feel the rear end wanting to slip out but never did..all the meanwhile staying controlled and flat. If I could do it again I'd just get the rear bar.. the ms tsu is just engine dressing it seems.. maybe I'm wrong.

I also installed the jdm oem side visors. I Love Them. Install was easy after figuring out the japanese only instructions. Theyre pricey but nice and even have the word MAZDA molded in.

Glad to see you got the correct package this time. Turned out for the best. ;) Gotta disagree about the front sway bar just being window dressing. ( of course I'm going to disagree right? ;) )

I did feel a difference when i install it. Felt tighter to me. I don't have a rear sway bar however. Maybe try it without your rear sway bar installed?

With the strut towers so close to the firewall, I doubt the extra bracing does anything significant, except maybe on a car with ultra stiff suspension.

I was thinking the same thing too, but it does look sweet under the hood :)

Hey how much is this tower brace?

Doesn't the 2 already have a brace bolted on to the firewall, from each strut tower?

And the car's coming along quite nice there man! You just need some wheels now!

Yes it is a nice looking bar, too bad its so far back, but still.. looks real nice..

Hey how much is this tower brace?
contact Font, or hit up jdmgoodie.com.. font had a better price for me.

Thanks man, appreciate the feed back. YES I need wheels!!! I keep sayin i'm going to save up , then i'm like, "hey, i can afford that sway bar, or that shift knob, or those visors..." and never save up for the wheels.. but trust me, the wheels are on my next list.. unless i get my head unit first, lol.

Contact Font Motorsports (vendor on this site) private message him... or go to jdmgoodie.com.. but font had a better price for me.

Maybe.. I'm sure it does something.. but one thing is for sure, the car turns on a dime now. If only i had better tires...

Finally got my stereo system all put together. I went with the Kenwood KAC -7005ps.. I needed a new amp as my 12 year old amp finally went out.. plus my new head unit benefited from a 5 channel amp. Highly recommend for the price. As for the deck I went with the Pioneer DEH-80PRS. I did a ton of research before choosing and this is exactly what I wanted. Due mainly to the fact that I don't have unlimited data on my phone I didn't want any ap radio/ navigation stuff.. I wanted a stereo.. a good stereo. From all the reviews and audio forums this deck is as close as you can get without spending on competition level head units. I won't get too detailed but the equalizer is very detailed.. it has an internal amp.. can be run as an "active network" stereo.. and can run an sd card hidden behind the faceplate...no ipod or mp3 player needed. To set it up you hang a microphone over the driver headrest and exit the car. The stereo runs thru a series of sounds and frquencies from each speake and subwoofer and equalizes the system for you. I just tweaked very liitle to my liking but it actually worked quite well. I am VERY happy with this unit. Feel free to ask questions if you want more info. So now complete Im running the JL Audio c2-650 components and non components in the rear with a jl audio sub. I also got the doors dynamatted. Crappy phone pics:

Wheels n tires! So after much deliberation.. I ended up going with the Kosei K1. I love the negative space between the spokes and couldnt pass up the $99 deal on them. the only thing is that they were listed under the miata so they came in a 30 offset. They actually fit very flush.. the rear looks great, the fronts also but because the 2's fenders taper, sometimes they look a bit poke but its an illusion. For the rubber i went with Bridgestone Re-11A's/ 195/50/15 per Mr. Hollis recommendation. total weight was 32 lbs per wheel and tire.. stock wheels and tires also weighed in at 32 lbs so my scale is broken or it was an even weight swap. I really had a hard time between bronze 6ul's, or the black MOMO podiums.. but price, offset, and proven sustainability made me go with the kosei.
I'm really liking the RE11A's.. a lot of grip, not much added road noise, comfort dropped just barely.

That looks awesome. K-1s look so great. Fantastic wheel choice (cabpatch)

Great choice on the wheels and tires! I was thinking the re11A's would be my next choice as well. For some reason I was thinking the k1's were available in a 35mm offset as well.

Thanks for all the compliments... yea the ones I got were listed for a 2000 miata... so the offset was different.. I think 30 offset is the limit.. I wouldn't recommend going more aggressive than that.
