My Wild? KL Build

Lucky! Pull the manifold, SLAs, coilpack (and bracket), and cams (if they are not scored on the journals). If you really want to get creative, then pull the rear passenger cam cap, rear cam gear, and cam position sensor so you can do MS3/MS3x and sequential injection! :D.

That will be a sweet little project some weekend. I'll have to take a load of cash for all that! They don't take Discover, lol!

And if you decide to use the KLg4, you need that Millenia KL47 TB, unless you want to grind away on a KL01/03 TB. Also on the coilpack, you will need to grab the connector and pigtail from the harness so it can be wired up for the MS. And you need the SLA cam cores for regrinding as the HLA cams will tear up the shims because they have a more aggressive ramp than the SLA cams. You will likely need shims also.

Got the rear head gasket replaced, head torqued down, cams installed and torqued down. I just have to put the IM on it, time it, and get the COP and MS3/MS3x installed and the stock motor should be up and running. then I have to install my OEM Euro signals, GTS Black outline tails w/ blank reflector and get it legal so I can have the oil pump mounted!

We shall see how the timing is and how I progress..as this is obviously not a quick build, lol.

Picked up a parts '95 that is the identical color to mine two weeks ago. I am working on swapping a couple body pieces that I need, and then will be putting the rolling chassis up for sale once I have off of it what I need. I had to jump on it, since it was local, and cheap (needs a motor).

I am also hoping to finally move the other '95 this weekend so I can more easily work on it whenever I want to now that I have finally gotten all of my tools moved to my new house. Once I get the car moved it is just a matter of getting the motor timed, IM on, and fired up on the new MS..

If the wiring it correct..not that hard at all. Also depends on how 'base' the map is. I have a whole bunch of maps from over the years and I have a good idea what they are from and what mods I had, so it is easy for me to grab one, load it, and fire the car up..

Subbin! I haven't read all the pages yet but I'm excited to after work. All I saw were "KL" and ITB pics and I got all excited. haha

Haha..I wouldn't get too excited, lol..I have a long ways to go still. It will get done, I am not one to quite on a project. But I know it will be spring at the earliest before it is together. Buying a house in the midst of this project really put a pinch on doing car stuff too much.

Nah. I know you do good work and know your s***, that's why I'm excited. I know it will be epic when it's done. Hell, my friends say I work at turtle speed too so no worries. (2thumbs)

Fair enough. Thanks..I typically am much better about getting stuff done, but I have been waiting for a couple things at times through the build, then a house, then a car change and getting my '96 sold..been a mess, lol.

Do it once, do it right. You're on the right track! Now if I could just convince my stupid friends to do that, too... lol

Haha..yeah I am not doing this twice..Spent a long time talking to people who have build KL racecars, and some old school KL builders from down under. ;)

Prolly will be a few weeks before I get it up for sale..I will post pics and such of it when the time comes..for now here are the only two I have (cell pics).

Hey! Haha

Moar pics, John.

I haven't taken any lately as I have made little progress. Once I move the car, I will take some pics and update..hopefully this weekend or next..getting to a busy time of the year for me with friends getting married and such.
