My System

for future reference, mounting the amp to the sub-box is generally a bad Idea. If someone opens your hatch, one good yank and they get the whole thing... def post pics of the glass when you get it done....

yup, i learned that the hard way. mounting to the back seat is gonna be your best option unless you want to put a false floor underneath the carpet.

Umm, well I've been for over 2years now runnin nearly 2kw worth of amps under myseats without incident, I'd assume the answer to that question is no. There are heater ducts that you can simply lay across th etop of the amp which will retain function and not add dramatically to amp-heat. additionally should you require extra cooling you can turn your AC on and pipe it directly across the amp.

good point, I may move my MTX225HO under there, if it isn't too tall (heat issues during the summer, mostly I'm running a 1-Ohm bridged load)

i originally built my own box for my 2 12" kicker cvr's, and i had a hard time trying to find the right specs for a ported box for the kickers, and then you have to tune it to the right frequency. I finally just used the specs from an MTX manual, and the box came out okay but it wasn't quite as loud as it should have been. I just bought a new sealed box for the two kickers, and the sq is amazing, my opinnion would be to buy a box and spend the money on it for a better sq

but good luck with that fiberglass box

I appreciate everybody's help with this since I'm pretty new with the P5 and car audio in general. What do you guys think about something like either of these's?

Sub Box 1

Sub Box 2

I like that first one, looks pretty cool. And it's better to have one sub with a good amp than two subs with a weak amp. I have 1 10" with a 500w amp and it hits louder than my friends setup, 2 12's with a 800w amp.

Nice amp. I was searching eBay for those a year or so ago but wasn't having much luck. I finally settled for a 500D. I should have held out because the 500D shorted out and fried my subs :(. Now I've got a DLS A5 and all is good (thumb)

^I see one on Ebay once in a while... the bidding usually ends at $100, which is impressive, since the thing is 5+ years old.

If I see another I'm gonna buy it.

Try
MTX225HO
MTX 225HO
MTX 225 HO

it was strange, I'd get hits on one some times, and others different times. Stupid Keyword searches

eBay's search engine is far from perfect. It took me a while to find a new faceplate for my fiance's Clarion head unit. I had to search for DRX7575z, 7575, DRX7575, and 7575z. I love it when you come across an auction that is listed incorrectly...that usually means you'll get it for a lower price.

FYI, you can combine keywords in an 'or' fashion with the following syntax...
(DRX7575z,7575,DRX7575,7575z)
