My retrofit headlights

E55 projectors are bi-xenons and have probably THE BEST high beam output

whose your "seller"? If the E55's you're lookin at aren't bixenons, they are not E55's

As to the lack of high beam, you're going to want a high beam!! The projector cutoff does NOT throw light down the road like a high beam does.

as to a dual projector setup inside an ES housing, i dunno. I'd suggest getting a pro5 set of lights as spares to build that route.

Then you could get a halogen H7 high beam projector

and honestly, i suggset signing up to HIDplanet . com just remove spaces

research research research before you start buying parts for your retro! Otherwise, if you get inferior parts (not legit e55's) you could finsih your beautiful new lights and the light output be WORSE than your stock halogen setup

Getting my projectors from www.theretrofitsource.com -- looks like many here have used him. Maybe I misunderstood his explanation to me then on the whole low / high beam thing?

ah, yes, Matt's a good guy. I've bought quite a few things from him

And, his E55's are bixenons. Something else you could check is his FX35 replicas. They're AMAZING for being what they are. You don't need to do any lens swap or spacing or color modding. They're ready to rock right out of the box.

And they're bixenons too.

And the biexnons high/low is just a simple shield inside the housing that drops out of the way when you flick on the high's allowing all the light to pour out all over the road.

Cool! Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.

What's the benefit of the FX versus the E55? Fit-ablity into a stock Protege ES headlight housing? Is that about it? Or other benefits?

size wise, i think they're REALLY close.

It's all in light output. The E55 has the best high beam output of any of the projectors, the FX is prob the best all around performer for the budget.

check the pics of outputs on theretrofitsource's site. Click each projector and check outputs.

Hey guys I'm looking to do somewhat of a retrofit as well at some point after installing my HIDs last night. I was curious as to where I can get a set of the halos for the headlight? I noticed xenonexpert.com carried them but also that they were relatively expensive I thought, or is that a reasonable price for them?

nada i heard they arent allowed to sell them anymore some s*** from the DOT, so i wasnt sure if anyone had any other ideas or where they got theirs from. Send links if anyone finds anything
