My Impreza progress thread

Having gone down the same path before... don't bother with the engine bay. Period. If you're remotely serious about the turbo swap, it's all coming out anyway.

Spend your money on suspension upgrades now because all of that carries over, and it makes the car a lot more fun to drive.

Yah, I know. I could not stand having all that plastic in there with the stock intake though and I have to do the basic bolt on's to have fun with it till I can afford a swap. All other performance upgrades will be transferable from now on.

1/20/09 UPDATE:

Got my new head lamps today to replace my broken ones. I also blacked them out before installing them:

I would say your next mod needs to be a camera! jk, the new headlights look great!

LOL Thanks. I got one it is just easier to snap a couple pics on my phone for these little updates. Will be posting some better pics from my camera when I get her washed and waxed. Need some good weather to do that though.

She's coming along quickly

Yah I have searched and wanted one for a while so I have quite a bit of time to figure out mods and get ideas. Plus I have a good amount of experience working on them so. That and not working helps to. lol So got lots of time to work on her.

Looks good man. Stop taking pics with ur celly. Are u thinking about removing the black molding on the doors? The headlights were a big plus. Keep up the good work.

Those last pics I posted above are camera pics, not cell phone pics. The side moldings are pegged into the door panels so if I removed them they would leave behind holes. I would if they were only stuck on. Besides they might go with my black and red theme anyway. Eventually I am probably going to get some black Rota wheels with a red lip, so they will match. If I ever repaint the car I will remove them. I would like to repaint it someday. It needs it.

Lookin' good man, those headlights really do help out a lot. I love the steelies too. Glad you took off those caps.

EDIT: What about yellow fogs????

Yah, the hub caps had to go. I might paint them though a gloss black with a red lip and see how they look. Just for my winter setup, until I can afford my summer wheels.

Yellow fogs would look good but my brother works at Shucks and he might be able to get me a good deal on some 5" Hella's.

Thought you guys would get a kick out of the floor mats that came in the car when I bought it:

Finally replaced these today with some manlier ones. lol Also ran some Seafoam through the engine and changed the oil and filter with top of the line oil filter and fully synthetic oil

LOLLLLLL That should have been your first mod. Hehehe. Looking good man...I dig it! A local dude has an RS sedan with an STi engine swap..definitely do that in the future if you can.

ROFL you seriously drove around with those in your car? I'm amazed.

Nice work on the car. My mom has one of those in black that I drove around for about a year. Nice ride, my only beef was the shifter being like rowing a boat... Power band on the stock motor is pretty... finicky too.

Yah, that is definitely on the agenda in the future.

As you can see it shortened it quite a bit(2.5") squishing my accordian shift boot so I ordered a nice leather one from www.redlinegoods.com . Will post pics when I get and install that.
