Well I just got back from the MS6 training down in Atlanta. It was held at Road Atlanta racetrack. I don't even know where to begin.. Umm... The car is badass and it is built like a tank. The engine is built for serious punishment, the transmission is built for serious punishment, everything was built to handle the upgrades. It wasn't thrown together as "other" Mazdaspeed vehicles seem to have been...
We drove in a tight autocross type course, then in a course where you launched the car at around 5-6k rpm (seriously) then tested the abs system and the dsc. Then on to the race track where they actually let us really test the cars. We reached speeds of around 110mph sometimes alittle faster in the straights. The cornering is amazing for such a big car. I can't even begin to relay how much I am in love with the DSC (dynamic stability control system), it waits till you are actually starting to slide before it reacts. The only way I can describe it is "it's like hitting the reset button on a video game".
The only failure they had to date (they have had 21 events with an avg of 50-100 people each day) is one suspension or motor mount on the car they were demonstrating the traction control. Thats the one where we were launching at 5-6k rpm. They figured it had over 950+ launches in this nature on it.
I'm not saying they are indestructable or the ultimate car but I am a car enthusiast and I loved every second I was in one.
