well im a dj so.. i spin:
Hardhouse & Nrgy.
so the music i listen to is;
all rave music except boring Ambient crap, hip hop, r&b, some rock & oldies ...
i cant think of any more ...heheh

I listen to anything but techno. Never understood the point of it.
If you check out my cd folders (over 300 CDs) I have everything from Bach to country (all ages), to Death metal, to pop/dance, Gangster rap, Jazz, Classic rock, and everything in between. Music is great for the soul. Nothing can help a mood better.
I played the trumpet for 22 years. I liked big-band, swing and jazz the best for performances.
Now you know, I was a band nerd, now turned computer geek! Sad part is, if you knew me, I don't fit into either role. Always loved being the misfit.

Anyhow again good list as for me if its good i like if its crap i dont LOL regardless of genre (damn thats probbably not even close) for example im listening as i type this Stray Cats They rock at what they play thats what i ussually go by.

My love of music is so damn broad, that if I started posting about it, I would be here forever! I like what ever sounds good to me. My newest CD's are:

Dirty Vegas - Dirty Vegas
LTJ Bukem - Earth
Jahiem
Boards of Canada - Music has the right to children
Chillout 2002 - The ultimate chillout
Bjork - Vespertime
The Chemical Brothers - Come with Us
The Ones - Flawless
DJ Krush - Zen
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Swordfish Soudtrack

I have tons of Jazz CD's also

Brian Culbertson is the s***!!
So is Pieces of a Dream.

I better stop if I want to see the Bourne Identity early enough to get some sleep.

I have similar music tastes to PJ 5....

like my Hip Hop, Rap and R & B especially when driving.

Of course I also like punk, jazz, alternative, classical, slow beats for groovin' to and pretty much everything in between. I'd say country is the only one I don't listen to a lot, but even that I listen to if it's more of the mainstream stuff.

Oh and I also like cheesy songs...songs that nobody admits to ever liking or listening to, even tho it was #1 at the time it first came out. :)

I find my mood is seriously affected by music. As a lot of you know I play Dance Dance Revolution and I literally play it for hours even tho I'm literally sweating buckets and finding it even hard to breath...it's really all becaue the game music pumps me up so much and just puts me in the moment where nothing else matters. The feeling of being on the verge of collapse from just releasing to the music borders on euphoric...oh and that's actually one reason I also enjoy trance...you just let yourself go completely and move your body very freely and almost without thought.

ill pretty much listen to everything but polka and country. some of my favorites are

kmfdm
my life in the thrill kill kult
Nine inch nails
Korn
Limp bizkit (the first album dont like the last two that much)
linkin park
3rd strike
alkoline trio is good
mxpx
cheater (in my signature, good Orange County Punk band. if you like pennywise you will like them)
new found glory
sublime
arlo guthrie
crosby stills and nash
doors
santana (the old stuff)
NWA
ice cube (i know NWA is basically the same)
Dr. dre
DJ Keoki
basement jaxx
cake
bloodhound gang
blink 182
clash
ramones (cant forget them)
dead kennedys
gravity kills
kittie
rehab
slipknot

sorry for the long list, but it keeps going on. this is just 1/4 of the music on my computer at work, at home i have about 2500 music fills and growing.

Favorites:

King Crimson
Yes
Jethro Tull
Frank Zappa
Pink Floyd
Renaissance
Nektar
Genesis (early, w/ Peter Gabriel)

i'm surprised nobody mentioned Mr. Slim Shady, Eminem yet (ok I just did :D). Do you guys not like his music, or just think he's already sold out???

personally i can't stand emenim. not that i make a big protest or anything just think his stuff is annoyning as hell. the only one i came close to listening to was the one with the sampling of dido on and thats just cause i liked the dido song with some extra bump. to me emenim's music just kind of eptimizes the young i dont give sh*t crowd and thats just not what im about so i leave it up to them to listen to it. hell i'll listen to country, which i generally hate, before emenim.

Stevie Ray Vaughn

OH HELL YES!
I think Stevie kicks so much ass, and so does Kenny Wayne!!!! I've seen Kenny in New Orleans at Hard Rock, and at Starkville, MS where I went to college. Kick ass!!!!

Speaking of music, has anyone else been in trouble at work for listening?? I have a brand new set of Polk Headphones that sound really good... My boss walked in the other day while I was listening to Stone Temple Pilots - "Crackerman" and asked me if I was ok... lol. I am programmer, so I told them in the most anti-social way possible that I had to listen to music all day, or else I wouldn't be able to program at all. My MP3 folder on the network is taking up 1.46GB of space at the moment... :)

He seems kind of whiney to me. It's like he only acts like a dipshit to start a bunch of media hype... He should let his music be the hype, not his stupidity... I like his music ok, but if it can down to it, I would rather listen to something else. :)
