Android Auto and possibly Apple CarPlay crashing

Hi there,

New to the board!

Does upgrading the firmware or the infotainment OS resolve any random android auto crash issues? I've never updated mine ever.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

Welcome! Couple links that might help...

Hi Antoine.

Got the file from Candurin, followed the instructions, installed the new firmware, got it up and running. It feels snappier and starts up quicker, looks a bit sharper as well, ever so slightly.

However, Android Auto still restarts itself and sometimes even the whole infotainment system when used. I have already replaced the cables prior to the firmware upgrade so I'm pretty sure it's not that.

Any other ideas as to what it could be?

It happens with both my phone and my wife's. Both are Samsung smart phones, a z flip 4 and a galaxy s23. Doesn't matter what USB port they're plugged into either, so it's not the ports, the cables, the phones, or the firmware by the looks of it....

While I'm not personally familiar with this issue I did do a quick search for some ideas...

Are your phones running the latest updates?

Are you able to reinstall Android Auto?

Have you tried toggling Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off and on again?

Not sure if this is possible but could your infotainment system be overloaded (too many apps at the same time) and or overheating?
