Msp Vs Rx8

I dont see them ever doing that with this style RX8. They would be to scared of body flexing and people twisting the cars in knots. Now if they got rid of the rear doors I bet they wood.

If you guys are looking very a great comparsion and track tested video on the rx-8 get the best of motoring vol. 8 rotary reborn. the tested the rx-8 vs S2000, G35, WRX, Integra Type R, Miata and maybe some other cars i can't remember. but it's a great video but ***spoiler**** the rx-8 definately does not win ****spoiler not even second place**** but it's a great car, just not a fast one (in the straights) in comparsion to the other cars in it's class. And that video we watched is not the first time i've seen an msp beat an rx-8;)

Even Mazda said its not that great what with the squeaks and rattles and the rest.

interesting, when did they say that, i have never had a squeek or rattle from my car, or any problems with the interior or body of it...its as quiet and smooth on a freeway cruise as my friends lexis LS400 (or whatever the large 4 door v8 sedan is.) The fit and finish of the interior is amaizingly good for a car under 30k....compared to the 350z, it feels like a lexus....the 350 uses cheap interior plastic and the panels on the dash feel thin and cheap.

I agree with you on the interior plastics of the Z. But man does that thing make you feel great behind the wheel.

Ive seen that, and yes the rx8 comes in 2nd to last, only beating the miata. I will add that it was a Type S (fully loaded) version, so it has all the extra weight...blah blah blah....(rei) not that it would make enough of a difference for it to win....or even finish 2nd.

Have you seen the Best Motoring video "Rotary Revenge" when because the rx8 did so bad they came back and raced the same cars with the MazdaSpeed RX8 (no more power, just a few mods for better throtle response and some suspension mods).......SPOILER......it came in first, something like 2 secs ahead of the 2nd place car..........

The RX8 has the stiffest chassie mazda has ever created, something like 25% stiffer than the last FD RX7. It is so stiff that several drivers from BM (best motoring) said the RX8 felt better over slightly bumpy roads than the RX7....cause the better chasie and suspension geometry gave the car a better road feel........

As much as I love the BM vids, they are so biased and wonky that I just can't take them at face value anymore. It seems like an NSX can out accelerate a 911 TURBO on that show! Just kidding but anyone who watches that show knows what I mean.

Stick the best driver in the NSX and put the most ham-fisted rookie in the competition.

i will agree with you on that, they are only slightly better than the Top Gear road tests

Don't take this wrong. I'm not trying to bash the RX8 (althought that's what I'm doing) but read this thread if you havn't already. Expect to see the recall notice soon.

one thing i think we all could agree on is that we wish that the rx-8 had a little more go , that's all but other than that it's a great car!

you didnt post the link, but trust me, I know all the info on the recall, ect.

Again, people say things like "just admit the rx8 is s***" or "they are the worst mazda ever made"...ect.....and it all comes back to the motor.

Ill say it again, if this car had a 300hp piston motor (turbo MZR or a v6 like the 350...ect) people would rave about the car, the handling, driving, interior, exterior......its an amazing car.

Not everyone wants to deal with the rotary motor, and thats fine......but it seems like just cause of the power plant in the car, people hate on it.

I dont really care what other people say, i just try to prevent people from telling the wrong information about the car.

also, any places you recomend checking out in austin, ill be there over this long weekend coming up. Ive been there quite a few times...so I know of 6th street and that kinda stuff...but if there is a nice resturant or something you would recomend, let me know.

Ill be there for a buddys wedding.

I just wish the underpowered some-b**** didn't guzzle gas. My Wife totaly loves the things and if we buy one that fuel mileage will suck.
Why in God's name can't they get it to make at least 20MPG?
I like the car alot if only Mazda would get their s*** together. The MSP lost the comparsions (some of them) because Mazda screwed the pooch and dropped the hardpipes, lowered the boost, and ****** up the ECU tuning.
The one quote was," If only it had more power."
It was hands down the best overall car in the group but without the power it's kinda of a mute point. Kind of like the RX8. :(
At least the MS3 looks to be on target , no AWD, but it's getting close.

I "fixed" my MSP with what will be 300WHP but I would have a hard time tearing apart my Wife's RX8 :)

I totally agree. If this had a better engine I'd be all over it. But the engine makes the car. As far as Austin goes I'll PM you with my #. We can meet up with a few others Saturday night. We are trying to meet up sonday morning to go mountain biking. There are places here to rent them if you want to go.

i get 20-22mpg in the city (all city driving, traffic, stop-go ect) and get about 24-25 on the highway.

That gives me about 300 miles per tank city and about 350 miles per tank highway....if you fill up on E its 14-15 gals (15.9 gallon tank).

Thats with the a/c 100% of the time, I find that even if you dont run it at all it only gives you about 1mpg more in the city and 1.5mpg more on the highway.....so I just leave it on.

Its not the best, but its not too bad.

Hmm..ok that's better than the 13MPG the guy at work was getting. He had his car flashed multiple times by Mazda. Maybe I won't have to force her to buy another car.
