KYLiquid said:interesting, when did they say that, i have never had a squeek or rattle from my car, or any problems with the interior or body of it...its as quiet and smooth on a freeway cruise as my friends lexis LS400 (or whatever the large 4 door v8 sedan is.) The fit and finish of the interior is amaizingly good for a car under 30k....compared to the 350z, it feels like a lexus....the 350 uses cheap interior plastic and the panels on the dash feel thin and cheap.

And that video we watched is not the first time i've seen an msp beat an rx-8![]()
Hughes412 said:I dont see them ever doing that with this style RX8. They would be to scared of body flexing and people twisting the cars in knots. Now if they got rid of the rear doors I bet they wood.
Donas64 said:As much as I love the GM vids, they are so biased and wonky that I just can't take them at face value anymore. It seems like an NSX can out accelerate a 911 TURBO on that show! Just kidding but anyone who watches that show knows what I mean.
Stick the best driver in the NSX and put the most ham-fisted rookie in the competition.

Hughes412 said:Don't take this wrong. I'm not trying to bash the RX8 (althought that's what I'm doing) but read this thread if you havn't already. Expect to see the recall notice soon.
KYLiquid said:you didnt post the link, but trust me, I know all the info on the recall, ect.
Again, people say things like "just admit the rx8 is s***" or "they are the worst mazda ever made"...ect.....and it all comes back to the motor.
Ill say it again, if this car had a 300hp piston motor (turbo MZR or a v6 like the 350...ect) people would rave about the car, the handling, driving, interior, exterior......its an amazing car.
Not everyone wants to deal with the rotary motor, and thats fine......but it seems like just cause of the power plant in the car, people hate on it.
I dont really care what other people say, i just try to prevent people from telling the wrong information about the car.
also, any places you recomend checking out in austin, ill be there over this long weekend coming up. Ive been there quite a few times...so I know of 6th street and that kinda stuff...but if there is a nice resturant or something you would recomend, let me know.
Ill be there for a buddys wedding.
Hughes412 said:I totally agree. If this had a better engine I'd be all over it. But the engine makes the car. As far as Austin goes I'll PM you with my #. We can meet up with a few others Saturday night. We are trying to meet up sonday morning to go mountain biking. There are places here to rent them if you want to go.

Why in God's name can't they get it to make at least 20MPG?
Hmm..ok that's better than the 13MPG the guy at work was getting. He had his car flashed multiple times by Mazda. Maybe I won't have to force her to buy another car.KYLiquid said:i get 20-22mpg in the city (all city driving, traffic, stop-go ect) and get about 24-25 on the highway.
That gives me about 300 miles per tank city and about 350 miles per tank highway....if you fill up on E its 14-15 gals (15.9 gallon tank).
Thats with the a/c 100% of the time, I find that even if you dont run it at all it only gives you about 1mpg more in the city and 1.5mpg more on the highway.....so I just leave it on.
Its not the best, but its not too bad.
