msp vs a gsr...

now i understand..i thought you were sayin i had mine break down alot...and i was just f'n with u about mj....now about that honda....lol jk

like i said if u take care of any car it will be reliable i've driven both i like the msp becuz the suspension is great out of the box get lowering spring and its that much better with the right mods its a faster car

Lets agree to disagree. I've owned an Integra and a MSP, Integra with 60,000 miles was towed once (Big puddle and water got in the exhaust. MSP with 69,000 got towed 6 times.

every car has its problems. one problem for the msp is the diff, and one problem for the new si is 3rd gear. tends to pop out a lot.

I know I'm coming into this conversation late but i bought my msp with over 117,000 miles and is now sitting 120,000 and the car came with every service recite and such and I stay in touch with the guy i bought it from (original owner) and the car has never been towed period. But my gsr's were towed everywhere from my home, the track, and the 7 11 parking lot one time. I loved them alot and were bad ass but i could never rely on them like my msp.

My MSP has 120k miles almsot, got towed once cause LSD failure,

The MSP's are good, if you got the right one Lol.

MSP also has the Wastegate going bad easly, and the rear clunk. Thats really about it for the big issues. everything else is just random problums for people not doing regular maintenance to it, I had my wastegate and LSD go, but thats just common. and tahts all that went bad.

and the motor mounts...

Aside from the motor mounts, I've been rather impressed that mine has held up; though I do baby it for the most part (due to wga issues lately). Approaching 92k and wga just now going bad. And as far as I know, its still the stock unwelded LSD.

Don't look too far into my forum name.... I actually like a lot of Honda products. I say gs-r. MSP looks better...that's it. People try to justify things breaking on the MSP by saying "that's just typical stuff for this car". BS, these cars have issues and all you have to do is look through the "Problems" section of this forum. If you're dead set on turbo, get a MSP. Otherwise... I think you should find a 1991-'94 Sentra SE-R, put I/H/E & cams on there and call it a day...

yea their really waterin the msp down(wiggle)

Any n/a car is going to make more solid reliable power, and the integra cud easily go further cheaper. Yes all cars have problems such as wear and tear, which cant be avoided.

Their is tho a possibility the MSP is in better condition that the integra he is tryin to buy. Owning a MSP is more of an honor also, but..

its a personal choice. your pros and cons of both have been laid out here pretty thoroughally... at least twice over.

I'm going to try to break this down short and easy

Exterior:

MSP looks way better than the GS-R. But looks are subjective! IMO i think the MSP is a more all around car than any Civic SI/Integra GS-R. For 1 it's rare and not everyone and their mom has one....Like Honda/Acura

75% MSP
25% GS-R

Interior

MSP all the way. Not only do you get the Sparco feel but you get the Kenwood deck and sub. Has a more feel inside to it than the GS-R

90% MSP
10% GS-R

Engine:

MSP 170hp and 160ft lbs tq Weight: 2835lbs
GS-R 170hp and 128ft lbs tq Weight:2529lbs

Power wise goes! Both have their fall backs. Both are basically equal in Acceleration.

As far as Aftermarket options go!! GS-R > MSP

45% MSP
55% GS-R

Reliability:

Hands down Honda/Acura

25% MSP
75% GS-R

Total overall score: 58% MSP
Total overall score: 42% GS-R

I hope this helps you decide in the near future on you're vehicle purchase. GL
