msp vs a gsr...

I my mind the MSP will be a lot "quicker" car, street driven... just because boost comes on at 3500 and will pull you wherever you wanna go to, but the GSR is VTEC limited... kinda like an RX-8... to make it move, you've gotta be that asshole who windes it out to redline...

Nice......RX8=Asshole. Interesting point of view.(drinks)

obviously not what I meant... lol. but they don't make their power until you wind em out.

i drove an rx-8 around the parking lot at my work the other day, revved it out a bit on a straight road, and honestly it feels like an s2000 to me. not really my cup of tea.

now you are implying that they make power???? Next you are going say they get good gas milage and dont burn oil.

I identified your problem above. Replace the bolded word with "wicked twisty" and you will be more likely to enjoy it. RX8+strait road is like GTO+curvy road. Either way you fail.

Not the least bit offended. I have found that RX8's appeal to a very narrow slice of the general population. I love mine and that all that matters to me. Im just B@W.

<--this guy's 2 cents.....

If i would have known what i know now...no offense...but i would NOT own another MSP. I love the way this car handles, how nimble it is on the street....blast to drive...but knowing now that their internals are basically the same as that of a riding lawnmower...and now I'm out about 2K for engine and install and the laundry list of other crap that will have to happen. Not worth owning as a primary vehicle. As a project car or toy, sure.

***don't get me wrong....love this car to death. But there wasn't a sticker on the outside explaining that you'll get addicted to boost, and it has toothpick rods.***

im sorry, but if you blew an engine you have no one but yourself to blame. these things don't blow themselves up. the only major failure that isn't 100% driver/modder fault is the diff. The sticker you were looking for is posted ALL OVER this forum... up the boost without forging, you're asking for trouble. if you didn't know that, you learned the hard way. for that I'm sorry.

I do believe the car has similar appeal as the MSP.... in many ways. I'd have an RX8 instead if I had a bit more cash, and could afford worse mileage.

Amen!

Drove mine for 92,000 miles at just under 10lbs of boost, had all the appropriate supporting engine mods, and never had a single problem with my block.

Very well said!(2thumbs)

To the original question: if u wanna know who would win.....i whooped my friends gsr. he had an intake. i was completely stock. my turbo feels like it is flatlining after 4500 rpm and not pulling all the way through the gear like it should and i still whooped him easily. i think the dealer tuned down my engine or something cuz i was in the shop 24 7 for warranty repairs so now it always feels flat when WOT. cornering wise. msp all the way too. we drive each others cars all the time.
