MSP Upgrades

Why does everyone insist on doing this to the MSP? Comparing an MSP to an EVo or trying to make one as fast as an EVO is like comparing a new Thundebird to a Z06. Yes the are technically in the same class, yes they both represent competing manufacturers and yes they share similarites and even heritage. Can a Thunderbird take a C5? 99% of the time in 99% of the categories, NOT A CHANCE. HEAVILY HEAVILY HEAVILY HEAVILY HEAVILY Modded against a STOCK STOCK STOCK Z06. maybe.

Why even compare an MSP to an EVO? It's as pointless as the Tbird vs. Z06 comparison I just made if not worse.

Also keep in mind that I think that just maybe possibly there might be a slight chance that EVO owners are MODDING their cars.

Whats next should the MSP say ..... turn water into wine, perhaps die for your sins?

Next up, I try to mod my neighbors Dodge Stratus to hang with a Nascar. Stay Tuned for the Dyno results!!!!!!!

If you are REALLY into spending money,

Fuel Management (perfworks is making a Piggy Back)
Upgraded injectors
FMIC
Boost Controler
Downpipe (S pipe)
or Turbo Back Exhast (3 in)
Upgraded Clutch / tranny
flywheel
E bushings
Don't get the PCM Flash
T3/04
Forged Internals
Poly Motor Mounts
SRI/CAI of your choosing

Anything else I'm forgetting?

thanks to all

I knew that I would get mixed reactions. I love the msp it is my favorite car and I wouldn't buy any other. I will look into the suggestions given by the other members and will let everyone know how it turns out.

great evo drivers will break into 12s stock which means bad ones will float in the 13s and maybe even low 14s... there are multitudes of msp drivers on here runnin 13s with not a TOOON of $$ invested in s***

not many are 13s, at least not ones on here.

A multitude? really? A multitude? Where? The quarter mile thread has how many 13 second cars in it? Discreet just ran a 14.4 at the track.(Most agree with more traction he could be in the 13's) Is that a MULTITUDE? A car that has the POTENTIAL to run 13's doesn't count :D

Also quoting the EVo as running high 12s all the way to low 14s based on the driver is STUPID. I am sure Dumbasses in EVOs have managed to run 14's but pick a mean number and go with it. Nobody says " Car X runs anywhere from a 12.8 to a 14.2 Stock."

ill say w/e the **** i wanna say because i think the point i was making was not only accurate but pretty simple. im under the crazy assumption that a lot of the cars could up the boost more at a track if desired and its my own opinion. who the **** u think youre talking to, no reason for you to get an attitude

calm down bro :P chino > *

well ill assume i took it the complete wrong way b/c in context u sounded like a dick but i hear u are far from one :-)

I think that with some time and some tuning, especially with the fuel system, that we can be contenders. Granted that our cars did not come with amazing speed like the Evo, I think that after a little while, since our cars are fairly new and the Evos and Subs have been around for a while that they have more information on how to tune them to the full potential. Just give us some time, some experience on tuning our cars to higher potential and i am sure that we will be competing with all the other top notch imports out there. Atleast that is what i feel, sure it might take some money, but it would be well worth it to me, plus the feeling of beating an Evo or Sti would be a big rush to me.

Matt

Sorry for the spelling error earlier, i meant to say love the mazdas, CANT get away from them. Just to clarify.

When you compare the performance of the EVO and the MSP, remember to incorporate the price of both cars. I got the MSP for $16350, compare that to the sticker of an EVO or STi. My opinion, the MSP was the route to go.

Slam it down...(drinks)

so i'm ready for all of the upgrades. just tell me what to do. Help..................... don't want an evo..I want to spank his ass with the MSP. all info is greatly appreciated. if I will need to investigate just help me out and point me in the right direction.

whata dork.....you want 12's? buy a cobra. want 12's on a compact? buy an SRT-4 and stage 1and 2 kits....also a larger turbo and slicks...

p.s. since money isn't an object why not just buy a top fuel car? thats the stupidest statement I've heard on here in a long time.

I'm telling you that there are a helluva lotta cars that can do it easier, cheaper and better.

the MSP was made to handle, not accelerate. The suspension is NOT designed to aid in drag racing. It was made to take turns...thats the opposite of drag.

The neon runs 13's stock and with the stage 2 upgrades through dodge I bet it runs 12's. You will have to invest so much time and money into your MSP to make it even keep up with an EVO. All the evo has to do is add an intake and he's smoked you again.

You need to learn to think things through before doing them.

i thought u loved the msp...u want a car just to run 12's?? who cares...its just a number at a track...theres more to life than quarter mile times...
