How to change CX-9 Key Fob battery?

Does anyone know how to change the battery from this CX-9, 2014 key fob?

I tried that, but the battery is seated in the fob and won’t slide out.

It looks like it may help if you use a flat head screw driver to pry at the bottom of the U cover while you push the battery from the other end.

For a 2014 CX-9, here's the manual -- take a look at the section on p 3-24, and note that it suggests gently using a small screwdriver to pry up the battery:

For a 2023 CX-9 here's its manual -- on p. 6-33 it suggests gently using a tape-wrapped small screwdriver to pry up the battery.

My own 2016.5 CX-5 is much the same. I can generally get it out without using a screwdriver, but a couple of times I've resorted to one.

Pro tip: the teeth of the physical key are just the right width to fit in the groove that runs around the edge of your fob. The key makes a pretty excellent prying tool.
