msp axles?????

where can i find stronger n more reliable axles????all i can find is the 400hp n up ones for like $600....is there any cheaper ones strong enough to keep up with a welded diff?????

i have a welded diff and 68,000 miles on my axles, and around 250whp....no axle problems ever!!! Just motor and tranny issues...lol not sure what kind of power you have, or the hp rating on the stock ones for that matter!!!

Yeah, it's my understanding that the stock transmission is the weak point, unless you're putting down some fairly big numbers or really beating on the car.

im running stock hp but looking to get up to the 250 rang..i already blew my lsd once i dont want to blow it again so im gunna be welding my lsd next week but i was told to change axles or i wud start blowing them next....did u start experiencing motor and tranny problems due to welding ur diff or sumthing else???

Welding the diff does not mean converting it to a solid no-slip diff. All it does is reinforce a joint that's currently held together by weak rivets by welding it. It's not going affect the drivetrain in any way, other than that the diff won't break anymore.

Which is a long way of saying that welding the diff won't cause or alleviate any other motor/tranny problems. Once you start getting into the high 200hp and closer to 300hp, the next part you'll likely have to watch out for is 3rd gear. Well, aside from rods/pistons obviously. lol

Maybe you just need stiffer motor mounts.. (dunno)

yea mabe im not the most educated on the msp so im still sinking alotta information from other peoples experiences...my problem is the lsd id figured id weld it and get new axles or if i can do motor mounts and keep my lsd unwelded i just want to find the best way to get around with a peace of mind that i wont blow my lsd so easily....will stiffer motor mounts ease pressure on my lsd?????

beauttiffuulll enough sed i was told that it wud make it a solid no slip so i figured that wud be pretty rough on the axles and tranny i diddnt want to be replacing axles after every race.....yea my 3rd gear also has a bad sincro if thats how u spell it im not so sure how to fix that without spending a furtune....i no how to get my lsd out but the gears seems a little more scarey to be playing with with no skills

Another thing to remember with the axles is that the size of the MSP axles is actually different than other Proteges, despite what the people at Advance Auto or Napa try to tell you.. just as reference if you ever do have to replace one. But yeah, the axles should be fine.

thanx 4 the reference i did see the Advance Auto site i diddnt think they cud all be the same....do u no of any other sites for axles and performance parts for the msp??i saw protegegarage, streetsunit, crossoverperformance

Map axles can handle in excess of 350 whp.. No need to change them.. Only thing on the msp that was made right.. LOL

I have a website and offer FMIC kits for the MSP, I think the ones you listed are the main ones that offer MSP stuff.
