MS6 vs. IS350

I know the IS350 probably beat the MS6 hands down in the luxury and toys department but in my opinion it's not as pretty. I've never driven one but from what I've read, the driving dynamics are a bit on the slushy soft side compared to the MS6. A friend of mine who co-owns a small dealership and drives a BMW 330ci test drove my stock MS6 and then drove an IS350 that came in the the dealership a few weeks later. His actually favored the MS6 driving feel over the IS and his own BMW.

The IS350 is a faster car than the Speed6. I have been in an IS. Compared to my ms6 the ride seems more firm yet more smooth.

The IS350 isn't faster...and it has 1.2 liters more displacement and half the drive train, but it's 0-60 is rated .2 seconds slower than the MS6.
The IS250 is a much better comparison price-wise, and it's much slower.
The IS-F on the other hand will walk us all...for twice the price. :)

the lexus is a slushbox, same setup as cadillac cts, fast on paper, slow on the street. the difference is the ms6 is violent and impolite, with awd and turbo, the lexus is soft and irrelevant. my good friend wayne went from a white m3 smg full dinan to the lexus isF. THATs a ******* car. 120 feels like 55mph.

The reviews on the ISF pretty much down the car but it's still a somewhat decent effort from the company that brought us the AE86, GT-4 Celica and the Supra Twin Turbo. Just like every Japanese car that aims for the Europeans or the Itallians, just when they get aound to building something to challenge, they go an move the benchmark.

For the money the M3 with the V8 is a better car.

Or there's always the Audi RS6 with a twin turbo V10, but I'm not sure if that's sold here in the US

i dont know why everyone is bashing the is350 they are fast first of all and smoked me badly, i was embarrased. and i think the car looks amazing aswell and probably better quality.

I don't think anyone is bashing the IS350. Just pointing out that it's a slush box and rated slower than an MS6 by two-tenths of a second while costing twice as much. If one embarrassed you, with your mods (at the track, I'm sure), it was NOT stock. Or you drove poorly.

being inside the isF and seeing all the features will win you over 8 speed dual clutch system, plus its huge, like dodge charger big, so comfortable, and they make twin turbo kits which run 5 psi and you get 666hp.

The IS350 Put's out a better 1/4mile time on paper. I don't know if it's really much faster than a Speed6. Stock vs stock! Maybe by few tenths. I've seen #s as good as 13.5@103mph for the IS350.

As far as an Over all around car. I'd say the MS6 is the better bang for the buck, but you're not getting the quality name brand stamped on your car and it's luxury is far better than the MS6. Who knows looks and opinions are (SUBJECTIVE) though!

Yeah 0-60 im pretty sure the is350 is faster. The 1/4 depends on who is driving the speed 6 but the is probably can get mid 13 sec passes more consistantly than a stock speed 6. Plenty of 0-60 youtube videos and they are faster than stock speed 6's.

MS6 vs. IS350 Numbers (C&D)

I prefer to go straight to C&D for number comparisons as they are consistently the quickest of other magazines & are a great personal benchmark IMO.

C&D Jan 07 "Quickest Cars of 2007: $25 to $30K"
*6th Place: 2007 MS6 0-60mph.......... 5.4 sec
1/4 mile........... 14.0 @ 99mph

C&D Oct 05 "Lux Comparison tests"
*2nd place: 2006 IS350 0-60mph........... 5.1 sec
1/4 mile........... 13.7 @ 104mph

*= they were ranked against other cars in two separate issues... not against one another. Links below "references" LOL

Do some more searching and you'll see that C&D number got quite a bit of flak from readers and other forums. Most other testers got somewhere between 5.4 and 5.8 0-6 times.

When I originally looked it up I ended up Edmunds, who rated the 2006-2009 IS350 at 5.6.

WikiAnswers says 5.8. lol...never heard of them before.

hmm... i ran is 350 the other day and put about car on him. but yes, theres a guy down the road from my house and his cars isf is in the shop going twin turbo+wide body, shyts gonna be sick!

IS-F has too many gears! Also (not to be a fanboy), but it also lacks a manual tranny! Anyone can step on the gas or push a paddle forward or back! Still a nice whip though.
