Klip said:So Mazda's claim of 274 hp (stock) is BS/marketing hype or just measured using a different method? All this is really depressing me if it's true, seeing these much lower HP numbers............
all manufacturers make claims of crank horsepower. dynos read the horsepower being made at the wheels, where parasitic drivetrain loss has already occured. for example, a mazdaspeed protege is claimed to make 170hp stock, yet on the dyno you'll see numbers between 140 and 160 depending on the car and the dyno, which brings me to...

I will glady dyno my care with the before and after.
something needs to be stressed greatly here; every dyno is different and every vehicle is different. there were mazdaspeed proteges that rolled off the line pushing 4psi stock, some pushing 9psi stock. there are plenty of variables that easily could throw off any dyno run on any car. i don't think anyone has addressed the fact that, even though this car is not full time AWD, it must be dynoed on an AWD dyno.
what is important here is that on our test car, proven gains were made from what that car dynoed stock. regardless of what the number is, that dyno shows a measure of consistency that will carry over.
if you buy this TMIC and are for whatever reason not happy with the result and you return it to me in good shape, i will personally refund your money.
