LOL, are you kidding? I was furious with Mazda USA (in a constructive way), the incident almost caused me to wreck, and it completely ruined my weekend when it happened. I was on a town errand and doing 40 or so, and it happened. I pulled quickly over, and popped the hood, to find my engine sitting halfway crooked inside the bay. I called Mazda Roadside Assistance (which incidentally is the same number you'd call to get Mazda USA customer service), and I gave them an earfull. I got a tow to my dealer, and dropped it off (this was a Saturday evening), and stopped by Monday morning to speak with my favorite service adviser there and get a rental from them. From there, he took great care of the car and me, and had it completely repaired $4000 worth) in 2 days. I was driving again by Wednesday midday! So warranty?? LOL, the trans mount was turned into a recall after I brought this incident to the attention of NHTSA. I'd say you don't have to worry about your warranty going void when stuff like this happens. Anyway, like I said, the service adviser and his crew took care of everything, and the car performed better then new, and had lots of new parts in the engine bay so not even a scratch was left.
FYI, I was about to enter in negotiations with Mazda to buy my car back, because of the fear of this happening again. I was asked by Mazda USA to allow for time to get an arbitrator down to speak with me, and for me to drive the car after repairs were done until they could get someone to me. Well, within a few hours of driving her, I decided that I would just chalk up the experience as part of owning her, and I called Mazda USA and told them to cancel the arbitrator...that the car will be kept after all. And the rest is history! My story is similar to many who have had this happen, and usually the end result is positive. The dealers stand behind this type of stuff. They have no choice! It is precisely why a warranty exists in the first place.
